Sharing Dump Pouch Patterns/Designs

@BackSpasm Are you talking the snap itself doesn't stay snapped? Or the two pieces of each side aren't staying connected thru the fabric?

It doesn't stay snapped tightly, they are installed very firmly but the fit isn't snug enough. I have the anvil and post and installed with a hammer, the whole nine yards. They work.... they just like to unsnap when the pouch gets tugged on

Just finished my DIY Syshauler tonight. The stitching is certainly not as clean as the original but for a first full thread injecting project from scratch I'm pretty happy with it.

First of all, thank you for posting pictures and plans of your bag! It has been super helpful in my journey to diy thread injecting as I start my saddle journey. I am curious though on a few things... how much overlap or seam allowance do you have between the top ripstop fabric and your mesh and did you secure the edges with grossgrain, zigzag stitch or leave it raw? Also did you bar stitch or box stitch the webbing in place? Thanks in advance

@Jrybicki, I overlapped just less than 1/2" as I just folded the edges into 1" grosgrain. As for the webbing I just inserted it and pinned it place and when I sewed the seam the stitching captured the webbing. I did make three passes over the webbing. Not sure if that's the right thing to do (I'm a rookie thread injector) but it seems to be working just fine. The pouch has been on my pack toting my tether and lineman's rope since I completed it with no issues yet. I just used straight stitching . . . well as straight as I could make it anyway :), throughout.

@boyne bowhunter Thanks for the quick reply! I figured thats how you did it as it made the most sense, just wasnt sure. I suppose the webbing doesnt need much as its not really weight bearing. Cut out a pattern last night to see how itd look, settled on a finished pouch of 6W x 2.5 thick x 9 deep. Trying to decide if I want side pockets on 1 for my bow pull up rope or if Im just going to stuff it in the top of the pouch. Played around with pocket designs a bit.

Any of you guys out there making your own haulers/pouches. The first two I made are functional but not quite what I want. I think I need some elastic closure cord instead of paracord. I've been thinking of trying the tethrd attachment system too, maybe just making my own knock of sys hauler since the wait is so long now. Maybe I should finish my edges around the drawstring with grosgrain too? I am getting some wear there. Who has made one? Post some pictures!
@BackSpasm you can pick up army surplus molle dump pouches on Amazon for like 10$ bucks or at a army surplus store for cheaper.

Ok, prototype #2 is much smaller and I like the size. Very compact and non-bulky. Meant to put prototype #1 here but accidentally spammed @skell’s thread listed above. This one is @skell’s pattern but changed the starting fabric size to 18x10. Also for the bottom corners only came in 1 1/2” instead of 2.
Finished size is approx 6.5” x 6.5” x 3” and I can easily fit my tether with Ropeman and carabiner.

Let me know your thoughts.
What are the attachment points that you used called? I know that Tethrd uses them for their hauler but I cannot find them for sale anywhere online. Thanks for any help.

These...

Lot of nice pouches here.
My problem with my trophyline zippered bag is trying to zip it closed.
It takes two hands and I have trouble reaching back even with the bag in forward molly holes.

I now have it on a clip on the far end and unclip, swing it towards the tree and access the bag.
Fill it, zip it and clip it.
The smaller draw string pouch works ok on the molly loops but still a little awkward to fill one handed.

My daughter made some awesome ones for me. Quiet, waterproof , magnetic flap on top. They hold my climbing rope, tether and my modified Anderson sling.
Although the Anderson does fill it full. Best part is the pouch lays completely flat when empty.
She is an awesome daughter!

Were did you get that treebark fabric! They look great!

Makes me think of the crown royal bags we used to use to hold marbles... too bad they are purple, their light collapsible...tasty... what more do you want. Lol.

Crown Apple is green...

How do the fleece pouches seal at the bottom? I’m looking at making some pouches myself and can’t seem to find where anyone has shared that info. Would anyone be willing to share a picture of the bottom?

Y'all all have posted cool pics, I like seeing everyone’s ideas and creativity. I made a mesh pouch that has 1” tubular webbing on top that the drawcord runs through and when it is attached to my saddle molle it serves as a reversible stuff sack for my saddle, tether and linesman’s belt. Kinda like the sys hauler, but I never have to unhook it from my saddle.
