Pack. Show me your fanny pack. I'm on the market for something new and different. Fleece is a bonus. I'd like something that I can strap around the tree and clip a hook for my bow to. My dislike of shoulder straps possibly exceeds Dave's hatred of Crocs.

I've been using the Allen Company Excursion Waist pack this off-season and have really liked it.

Quiet fabric
350+ cu in of space
Plenty of pockets
And not to badly priced

If I wasn't filming that's all I would be running this year.

I have one of these, I like it. I used it for a few years then ended up cutting some of the unneeded junk that I never used anymore and switching to an old tiny fieldline fanny pack. Worked great with a lock on.

If they made it in fleece, a little smaller or possibly only one pouch I think it would be perfect. It was a lot cooler to wear in early season then a vest like the primos bow hunters vest.

If I’m not mistaken, they don’t make the camo ones anymore unfortunately.

Man you can sew up a fleece fanny pack for about 6 bucks. plastic zipper - bigger the better so the noise is less zipperish. Also, I've wondered why no one makes a waist pack with pouches all the way around. If you can wear a fanny pack in the back, or the front, why not both. Double the room for gear. If I wasn't filming, I could get everything in a pack like that.

Also running a chest rig sometimes. We canoe hunt and a fanny pack sometimes gets in the way. This allows me to carry my sidearm up front along with a few essentials. I also use the molle webbing to hang a cellphone pouch, range finder pouch, etc. In bear I carry bear spray and hang it under the kit bag.

I'm strongly tempted by the chest rigs. I wanted to use a vest, but it hung down and covered the gear and lineman's loops on my kestrel. I've used and liked fanny packs in the past, but they may have the same issue when used with a saddle. Chest rig would keep everything high and dry when wading and accessible while climbing.

I could do that. I have fleece and 2" webbing...

I just don't know how it would hold up with bulky items. I can do simple stuff, but making compartments and providing "shape" is beyond my abilities.

I have an old trophyline accessory pouch that I kinda like. Might could make that work somehow.

Or I could just leave well-enough alone and keep rocking the same pack I always make work. That's what I SHOULD do.

Got this one off ebay for $24.08 plus free shipping- Think its suppose to be the poor mans answer to the Badlands fanny pack. Definitely will be cooler than my Primos bowhunting vest on the warmer days.

I have a similar LL Bean lumbar pack that does work well. I find having the shoulder straps is much better if you carry any amount of gear. Trying to figure out how to carry my sticks/platform on it or if I need to find something different. I can lash them sideways on top of the pack area, but then that will stick out on either side and hit trees/brush I suspect. Or go vertical and find a way to lash them to the upper shoulder area.
