You guys have some great ideas! A couple of you made recommendations and it got my gears turning and I have been busy. I hauled a tree into my basement and bolted/strapped it to the floor joices. This is the second tree in my basement....the first one was a couple years ago to try out my Guido's. I loved the Guido but ...super comfy but I feel like it was kind of complicated and bulky. I am looking for safety, lightweight and simplicity.

I took an old lone wolf hang on seat and made a platform....turned out pretty good. I found my old sit drag and tried it out. Amazing how comfy the sit drag is!! No pinch for me at all. I use a rock climbing harness for safety....8oz. I found an old singer 66 on craigslist for $50.00. Sewed a belt inside the sit drag so I can use it for my linesman belt (one of your ideas), once I get on the platform and hooked up I will hook up the rock harness and unhook the climbing belt. I sewed some pockets that will clip to the sit drag and hang by my thigh for easy access. The rock harness really makes me feel better about hunting out of the sling. This is just my prototype. Pretty crazy....webbing, belts, heavy thread who would have thought I would be sewing? I will post pictures at a later time.

I have LOTS of homemade climbing sticks I plan on hanging, I wont leave a bottom section. When I go in to hunt I will either take my etrier, reach up and hang it around the bottom steps or a climbing stick. On the private ground I will Ezy Kut drill and bolt.....I have used these for years and really like the bolt method. I am curious to see what all this weigh's? I have been packing in and packing out and it just sucks some of the fun out of it.

I like this site!!

I love that you bolted a tree into your garage. And it wasn't the first one...

I might be wrong, but his is more hard core than that, he put it in his basement!

Well here are some pictures of my tree and setup so far. The platform works really well for me. I borrowed the idea from someone on here and it works digs great on this tree-no slip. The strap I added to the drag needs a better buckle and my pockets also need buckles. I realize I still have to get up the tree but I'm pretty wound up total weight so far everything included is 6.4 lbs!

Looks good. V bracket on top will improve stability when you stand on the edge or load the side when working around the tree. I realize it packs better this way but figured I would lend some input

Love the tree! Thought about doing the same in my basement but not enough room for it after puttin in the man cave lol. Set up looks good!!

Thanks! I will give it a try. Right now I have a longer bolt that digs in the tree pretty good.
