Snapped bow String

I went out back for a little shooting to tune my bow in this evening. First pull i kept pulling and pulling and pulling until the string finally snapped...never had this happen before. Who should i contact to fix the problem?

I’d take it to my loca archery shop to replace the string. But that’s me.

If it’s a fairly new bow I would contact the manufacturer. Otherwise a local bow shop that you trust. It basically dry fires your bow so check closely for limb and cam damage as well.

How old was that string? I’ve had this happen to friends but only on very old strings that should’ve been replaced. Depending on how often you shoot it may be necessary to replace a string as often as every year. I get a new string every other year. Definitely take it to a trusted bow tech and they will go through you entire bow to make sure everything is ok. If it wasn’t an old or otherwise damaged string then there is probably another issue that caused it. A string jumping the cam can cause a break. Generally a string can’t jump a cam unless a foreign object causes it or the cam was damaged or twisted somehow.

You know what every moderator on this sight wants to do? Nothing but enjoy it. Someone somewhere has broken an anvil with a hammer. It doesn’t mean there was something wrong with a hammer and doesn’t mean they were using it wrong. Some people just need smaller hammers and others need bigger anvils.

i got a speeding ticket last month, 75 in a 55....long story short judge threw it out because i argued that the car company didnt put a speed restriction on the car. LOL. I love not being responsible for my own actions these days. Merica.
