Some climbing spike questions answered on video!

I have seen trees girdled from climbing tree stands. I have seen poorly cut limbs diseasing part of a tree. But not much damage to tree health from light spurring. Personally, I avoid any high value trees. This is usually pretty easy. Most of these trees aren't on the edges of bedding areas.

This has been exactly my experience this year with all the trees around bedding areas. I’ve been using the lone wolf hand climber top and 3 wild edge stepps with an aider. I have half dead cedars, tamaracks, ash, and poplars as my trees to choose from. I’ve done a ton of damage to them with the stepps and the hand climber especially.

I tried them one time. Didn’t know what I was doing. I’m sure I did it all wrong. Felt like my ankles were gonna roll every step. I’d like to give them a second try.
Took me 5 or 6 practice sessions efore I felt comfortable. I hated them at first. Almost sold them. Now... They're my favorite.

Thanks @flinginairos , your video pushed me over the edge and I broke down and bought a set of Aluminum Climbrights. Had a nice cool morning this morning and took the opportunity to go try them out. This is definitely one of the easiest means I have found to get up a tree. Light, packable and quiet. . . All good. I plan on using these on as many of my hunts as I can. I will still probably rappel out of the tree but climbing up was pretty effortless.
