Ok I am sick of all the southeast and Northeast guys having all the fun. Everyone knows that hunting in the deep south/Southwest is by far the hardest ever. We need to organize and have our own Saddle Hunter event. We have a ton of public land in Ark, OK, E Texas and LA and we have, IMHO, the absolute best woodsmen and hunters in the world (most of these northern croc wearers would never wade through a creek with live snakes and gaters - sissies)......

So we need to organize our own event. Hell I can guarantee you we can get on hogs out this way and we have so many really gifted hunters - we could do a spring bass fishing/hog hunting, scouting and seminar weekend that would blow away what they do back east (there is a reason people migrated this way form the East).

Who would be in for this? I am think somewhere in SE Ok, SW Ark, NW LA or E Texas????

@DaveT1963 you know I’m in for something close to home.

I say we look for somewhere with an inexpensive license for pigs, maybe somewhere we could run some soured corn bait sites, and do it before green up so the scouting workshops/how-to’s are most functional.

Fort Polk, La? I’ve never hunted there just drove through it on my way to Toledo bend. Its in La and close to Texas and Ok. Mostly pines from what I can tell.

Kistachi national forest could be an option as well. I’m just shooting off the cuff here

Sounds great. I know a couple great public lands in Ms. You can’t bait for hogs though and it’s only open during deer seasons. I plan to make a camping trip there this year hopefully. What I’m use to hunting in La would require a boat. Probably not the best places for a group hunt.
A few of us Al guys have actually been messaging doing this same thing for a small Al hunt.
Mr Warren actually hunts a refuge in Ms. His campfire stories are the best.

And since I have a lifetime license in La and Ms and resident in Al, my vote is for one of those 3. Lol plus you don’t have to check in your weapons there.

if it is MS someone from that state should do the planning and organizing.... it ain't never going to happen if we don't take action

Ms probably has the most expensive non resident license
