Spartan Forge Desktop App Takes Monumental Leap

Does anyone that's been using this for a while, know if you can change the default Satellite view? There are 3 sat views, and I can select them for the lambda view, but I'd really like to change the default sat view on the app to the "Fall" brown SAT-3 view. Where I hunt, the SAT- 1 isn't as useful. I'd really like to be able to swipe to the SAT-3 view without turning LIDAR off.

Dont know the answer to that. Good question though.

Not that I’m aware of. Would be cool feature to have if you hunted one region but I have found different areas have different default times available and vastly different quality of images based on what is available for that area so I take a lot of the image quality comparison between any app with a grain of salt. Varies by area from app to app a lot

Anybody know where Spartan Forge pulls weather forecasts from? I’ve just recently started looking at it to compare to other sources and in my opinion it’s been more accurate than other apps like the weather channel or my Apple weather app for both temp and precipitation so I was just curious.

He told me at the mobile expo but my CRS has taken care of that information.

Check out the PWS Monitor app. It's a weather app that pulls its info from homeowners that have weather stations. You can find stations near you or search for stations anywhere. It's the most accurate info I use but I still compare it to Wunderground, WindAlert, Windy, etc...

PWS Watcher?

Is there a way to look up old ""Intel " ? I'm not confident it's worth a ton but it would be useful to compare , at least for giggles. For example are the patterns I know lining up with the predictions

Not that I’ve found. I’m using the journal function at the end of every sit and your post gave me the idea to start adding in intel notes into the entry.

SF might be the only thing keeping me in this tree today. Haven’t seen a single deer but the pattern shows very abnormal so I’ve convinced myself that if I just stay up here one will randomly be sneaking in behind me at any moment. Haha

I just upgraded to the paid version a few days ago. I really was interested in the Lidar layer. I've already found a micro saddle that has peaked my interest and I plan on scouting it this week and putting a cam on it. I'm still ony the fence with the deer movement predictions but I'll give it a chance.

Has anyone had issues with pin locations or using the compass feature? I think some of my pins are off, I've noticed it and moved them to my location when placing a new pin.

Saturday I was going to pins and the compass part had me, obviously, going in circles trying to navigate. I could just say " it's over there "and go to it but the app was not going to get me there. Seemed better if I said go to pin but the next time it was out of whack.

I don't currently pay for OnX but I copied GPS coordinates and was much more successful navigating that way

Assuming GPS location was copied the same, i.e. the lat/lon match, then I would think this has more to do with your phone’s GPS than the app. Your phone gps is feeding the app data about where you’re at, all the app is doing is displaying that data. So if you have bad GPS signal none of your apps should be dead on. Did you compare OnX was working at that time? I’ve been frustrated with apps and getting to pins before but it’s typically been in hilly terrain or thick trees. I don’t expect my phone GPS to be that precise all the time. If it corrupted your pins or something else funky I’d be curious to know what it did. My OnX subscription is coming to an end and I’m flirting with checking this app out for a season.

I did compare OnX and SF at the time. OnX was better, which made me think it was the SF app not my phone/gps in general. I did just get a system update so maybe that'll take care of it
