I am looking at this rope for lineman and tether, and would like to put spliced eyes on it. Can’t find anywhere where this is doable with this particular rope. Don’t want to use knots.
Anyone using this rope in this application?
If not, I will probably go with Tethrd ropes or Samson Predator.

Most arborist and climbing sites will list if a rope is splice-able or not in the specs. If for whatever reason they don't look up the rope under the manufacture's website. Wesspur will hand spliced and do sewn spliced eyes in ropes that they are able to for ~15-25 a splice/sewn eye. Sterling HTP can't be hand spliced but can be sewn wesspur has 10mm HTP with sewn eye options.

Sewn eyes are shorter than spliced so might work out better for you.

Kind of wanted to splice them myself, that’s why I wondered if it was pleasurable without paying. Will probably go with the SamSam predator rope at this point or just order from tethrd nation

Search predator rope on here....pain in the butt to splice.Sucks, that is what I was thinking of using.

So, if you didn’t go with the Predator, what did you go with?
The reason I was looking at the HTP is it is water resistant. Not sure if it is to stiff thou.
What are the saddle hunters recommendations for a spliceable rope for tether and lineman’s rope?
Want to not have knots.

I haven't upgraded yet. Seems the 9mm Samson ultratech is the popular rope, but not spliceable. I'm told the knots are much smaller than the knots on the 11mm bluewater assault rope I currently use.

Just sent an email to WesSpur about splice-able 9mm static rope, I like the Sterling HTP but you can't splice it, I think thats in this thread, @redsquirrel told me about some 9mm that he uses for tether/lineman and I can't remember what it was, had it in my cart for a week and never pulled the trigger, crap!

I use the Sterling HTP 9mm, redsquirrel answered some questions for me on it. Not speaking for him, but share a little info. I bought 85 foot of the HTP 9mm to use for tether and linemans, as well as SRT. I made two tether/linemans exactly the same so they are interchangeable regardless of task. I picked up two kong ducks for each of those ropes. Steatlh stripped the ducks and it is a nice setup. I really like those kong ducks, they adjust easier than a ropeman IMO. I know have only one type of rope. I also bought sterling 7mm accesory cored for friction hitches prior to getting the kong's. I wanted sewn spliced eyes on my two short ropes and one on my SRT rope but redsquirrel said that since it is 9mm the rope knots nicely. I decided not to have mine sewn and save the $45, it was a good call.

I love Sterling HTP even though you can't splice it. It's great rope!
Can you tell me what rope you use for your Tethrd lineman and tether?
Going to order both, but want to make sure it is better than the HSS rope I have now.

I personally use the Sterling HTP for both my tehter and lineman's rope. I have figure 8's on a bight tied into both with 5" loops.

Aerohunter sells predator. Tethrd does not use predator for their ropes. The only issue I have had with Tethrd lines is you will have to milk them in my opinion. I actually have used sterling htp up until the Tethrd ropes came out. I prefer the Tethrd lines as I like the suppleness of them and they hold up very well. Sterling Htp is really good as well its much stiffer though. Predator, sterling htp or the Tethrd brand ropes are all great choices and should serve you well!!

Thanks, like the look of Predator as well

As other people have said above, Tethrd does not sell Predator rope. I think the confusion comes from the fact that Greg made a comparison one time in which he said that Predator is a 6,000lb double braid climbing rope and what they sell is also a 6,000lb double braid climbing rope. But to my knowledge Tethrd has never said what 'brand' of rope they sell.
