Squirrel meat. Any good?

True!

Here in central FL most hope to shoot a 80” buck

A friend was small game hunting after deer season on public and ended up with a 140” monster at 20 yds

You also said after deer season, THEY KNOW, THEY ALL KNOW!!!

There ain't many ways you can fix them I don't like. There's a squirrel rollup recipe by Parker Hall that you can do a web search for, I like to use for "first timers" that might be squeamish to the idea of eating tree rats. I like to throw several of them in a crook pot and cook them down till the meat is falling off the bone. Then use the meat in other recipes.
That reminds me... used to shoot cottontails with a mentor, years ago. He'd skin them out and stick them in the freezer until he had enough to fill a smoker, at which point he'd smoke up the lot of them. Pick the meat and portion it out for tacos or hot dish or chili or whatever else.

Squirrels lost their allure in the woods for me once I started smoking them with my PCP air rifle in the yard. I filled the freezer up and got a little burn out on picking meat of those little bones

also @TNbowhunter nice to see you back now that the weather is chilly here I was missing you hanging around. Too busy chasin' ambulances in the off season I suppose

A fella has to earn his keep, right? Haha

You got any big ones running around yalls place this year?
We've had a few nice ones show up on camera, and there's one big ol warrior that wouldn't wow you with his score but is just a hog of a deer. My old man stuck him last Thursday, but looks like it was probably a single-lung hit that he survived. Hoping we'll see him back soon. How about you??
