@DanO

Just a few questions pertaining to the Sterling Canyon C-IV line, if possible for you to answer. I was going to PM you, but I didn't see these questions posted anywhere, so I figured I'd make this public. If you need me to PM you, please let me know!

How does the color on the C-IV stand out as compared to the bark of a tree? Is it semi-camo-ish or is it really light colored? The photos look OK, but a computer screen isn't always accurate. How does it compare in flexibility and packability vs. Sterling 9mm Static HTP? I do know that it's lighter in weight per 100'.

I will be running this through a Safeguard, so definitely interested in a 9mm, just trying to decide which one as I'm looking to possibly get away from Predator...

Thanks again!

I got some ordered I’ll try to leave some feedback about it when it comes in!

Thank you! I also tagged Eastern Outdoors. I'm definitely looking to upgrade, just a matter of which rope. I'd love to go with Oplux, but I'm not ready to accept the responsibility of "out-of-spec" haha! I do know that it took 4+ Kn of pressure to get 8mm to fail in the Lifeguard, but...

I love oplux use it for my lineman’s and tether would have order it if it had been in stock lol I want to start practicing rappelling soon!

C-IV to me is the offspring from oplux and htp.

Stiffness is between the oplux and the htp. So packability is a lot better than the htp. Color is very similar to oplux other than the light green accent. I had picked some up for using with the safeguard and SRT set up. It definitely does not pack up as good as oplux but part of that is 9mm vs 8mm.

What @Aaronpaul14 said. It is in-between the two and packs better than HTP but not as good as Oplux. For use as a rappel line color doesn't matter much. I wouldn't hesitate to use it as a lineman or tether either, really.

I was just worried if I got caught before I was able to pull it up or if it was blowing a little, just didn't want a super light rope possibly "white flagging"!

Here is 32’ oplux and 38’ C-IV.

No not bad at all and the oplux has some hunting “weathered” to it. The C-IV is new and only been playing in the back yard. I figure it will also darken up a bit with some dirt on it.

I already have some on my cart! Haha! I've also been using aluminum rigging rings from WesSpur, in place of the quick-link (although I know that you do need to feed the full length through though).
