Struggling to find a good pack

View attachment 4904 View attachment 4905 View attachment 4904

Plenty of room between the main pack for a small platform/stand. There is also room to place your bow on the back of the pack. Yellow arrows represent the Pals/Molly system. You have the PALS system on the small pack AS well & on the outside on the back of the large pack in case you take off the smaller pack. Then you have the PALS system down both sides. You also have the PALS the waistband.

I will eventually get it tricked out the way I want it
Thanks for the pics, looks good.

I have a bunch of Badlands and love them. When I get the Predator I think it will fit awesome in one of them.

I like the badlands a lot but they are not the greatest for sticks or platforms.

I ordered a Mantis saddle and platform as well and have been looking into packs. I'll be using my LW sticks for now. The packs I've been looking at on Amazon are military style with molle webbing for lashing.

This pack is fairly small and is only $30.

I'm thinking I would put 2 sticks in each side with platform inside the pack along with camera gear and other stuff.

I just picked up the horn hinter main beam pack they have an xl version as well but i got the standard size. Its lightweight and with streamlining my film setup it will work perfect. I can strap sticks to the back of it or just go crazy mobile with my spurs or WE steps that i just got. Btw the WE steps are super easy to work with i really had no issues with the knot and install in seconds!!

I have 2 packs I use. A small Walmart (Timber hawk?) pack for the early season and a Horn Hunter Main Beam for when I need to carry a lot of stuff (winter).

If I didn't film, I wouldn't use a pack I don't think. Probably just a nice fanny pack.

I played around with my badlands pursuit pack last night and was able to attach my 4 muddy sticks to the back and they were pretty secure and didnt make any noise. I can take some pics tonight and post them so you see how i did it if anybody is interested. I think it will work out well for me this year. really no other weight since i will be wearing saddle in with me and using top muddy step as my platform.

I so agree with you here. Last year i just ended up not using a pack a few times hunting some presets. It was awesome not having to carry anything.

I have a few packs and don't like any of then lol. I've got an old military one that will carry everything but it's heavy, I have an old hip pack and a small one that work for the early season, just nothing I between.

Oh well I've got some time.

I have been using a modified alice(military) pack for 15 years hunting public land. My pack doesn't have the first tear or torn stitch in it. I changed out the waist belt for comfort and added side straps to hold two lone wolf sticks on each side. I always carry a larger pack as I always plan on packing a deer out in it. Tough as nails. Never an issue. Super cheap. I can pack all my gear plus half a whitetail in my pack. Depending on how much I carry in my hands I can sometimes carry an entire whitetail and gear out in one trip. I carry a small fanny pack to take in the tree with me and hide the fullsize pack at the base of the tree. Just personal preference but I don't ever recall saying to myself...darn I have too much room in this pack!

I like cheap gear thats tough and gets the job done, doesn't need to be fancy in my mind, where do you get one of these things? I'm also not sure about leaving it in the bushes, I guess i'd have to pack differently with a fanny pack like you said, cool idea.

I would like to see some photos, so far, I'm buying the half mood, ghost, and a badlands, lol.

Did you happen to get any pics?

I got mine at a local military surplus store. I was used to it. I was in the Army when that was the main pack used. So it was natural to use when I started hunting. That being said. I really like the pics above of mbucks27's pack. That might be a good warm season alternative. I pack too many clothes during the winter to use a smaller pack. I get wimpy when the temp dips below 50.
