Been there, but many years ago...mid/late 90s. We went to Bar Harbor, which is Mt. Pleasant Island and went on a whale cruise for 4 hours. Seen some whales, a lot of seals and got sicker than a dog because I didn't take my dramamine.
Went out on another one the next day AFTER TAKING dramamine and I was fine.
Our motel was part of the diner next door. So, we ate fresh lobster with an ear of sweet corn, cole slaw and a soft drink for $8.50.
At the time, market price for fresh lobster was $22. I love blueberries and they're grown in Maine, so I had blueberry pancakes for breakfast, every day!
We left that area and went inland to Rangley, Maine, to see some moose. We were told about a salt storage area for the county garage and that's where the moose would show up in the evenings to lick the salt off of the rocks. This was early August and the bull moose had full sets of antlers. I seen one bull moose that had a rack that must've been 60" wide.
As we were leaving a young bull moose decided to walk along side of our mini van and his shoulders were as high as the driver side window.
