Yesterday mornings sunrise. Only shot taken for the trip was at a hog that was 25 yards out on the right side of the pic. Clipped a limb or vine and the arrow took a nose dive and stuck in the ground maybe an inch behind the hogs front hoof. Guessed the hog in the 180-200# range. Hunted Friday, Saturday and yesterday morning. For the trip, had 5 different shot opportunities. 3 were 8 pointers, two opps were the same buck Friday afternoon and yesterday morning. Both bucks were 2 y/o’s and maybe maybe not legal for the area. Bucks have to have either 15” inside spread or a main beam at least 18”. Both were real close on beam length. Was looking for a mature deer anyway. Passed a couple chip shots on young doe’s. All oops were 20 or less except the hog. Bucks have started laying down some sign down there but it is still real early down there. Peak breeding is first week of December.
