I saw 11 deer in all, a group of 6 doe passed within 40 around 730, 2 more doe followed at about 745. I took a shot and missed the bigger of the 2 at 27. I misjudged the yardage and thought she was 32-33 so I held at her brisket with my 34 yard pin (single pin 2 dots: 20 and 34) but shot over her back.Nice buck, Congrats. You gonna give us the details.
Oh yeah and once again this deer was behind me and wouldn't be possible to shoot without a saddleI saw 11 deer in all, a group of 6 doe passed within 40 around 730, 2 more doe followed at about 745. 750 a lone doe walked up my way and past my tree. I saw her coming from a long way because my woods are really open. I could see a buck slowly following her and I got ready in case I decided to take it. He got closer and I decided if he gave me a shot id take it. The doe saw my silhouette but slowly went past me. She was clear of my tree as he approached. He also saw my silhouette, but wanted to continue after her. He cautiously proceeded and as he stepped behind a tree I drew. He took another step and I lung/heart shot him at about 20 yards.

Looks great in the pot! What does the end product (plate) look like? Also, do you have a recipe?Just put some shanks in for osso bucco. One of the auxiliary benefits of not being able to hunt with a new baby at home is extra cooking time.

Recipe from the Meat Eater cook book. They also have it on there website here:Looks great in the pot! What does the end product (plate) look like? Also, do you have a recipe?
Taste: Absolutely Delicious. It’s rich and tender. All that silver skin and tendons turn into meat butter, all fatty and gelatinous. I was even able to get the marrow out of the bone. WOW! So good. Highly recommend this recipe. My wife, who doesn’t eat deer generally, ate this and liked it.Looks great in the pot! What does the end product (plate) look like? Also, do you have a recipe?
I have never seen an entire deer just in a cooler. That's funny. Good idea too for conserving your ice and cooling the deer.
