I'm wanting to make a new tether from the Bandit rope I just received. I believe that the one I am using maybe to long. What length should the tether be? I'm using with a Tree Saddle.

Tie a figure 8 or splice an eye loop. Go out to the woods and pick out the largest tree you plan to climb. Wrapped it around and through the loop like normal, then you have the length. Thats how we all do it, no special length works for all.

Agree with kenn. The size of the tree's you hunt will be the biggest determining factor. Typically after knots my tether ends up being around 6 foot. I've had a couple tree's this year that it was just long enough.

if you use sticks or a strap platform you want your tether to be 4ish feet longer than those straps at least. Nothing worse than your sticks getting you up a fat tree to realize your platform/tether is too short.

I haven't used a saddle yet, in the process of putting it all together, but I do climb using the one stick method. I used a 12 foot piece to make my tether with two figure 8's
