The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. I just picked one up from a member. I'm excited to try it out, I like how large it is and think I'll be able to carry 4 sticks, 2 on each of the flaps.
It’s super large and it opens all up and attaches to the tree really well. I’ve watched a bunch of videos on it. Large enough to hold everything and yet still lumbar pack which allows all that airflow to your back. I’m gonna try to run steps and the pack will fit them nicely.
I recently found a rope bag that online looked promising and may be rethinking my pack setup.
If the rope bag works out, my need for a pack greatly decreases. I could almost get away with a LBV or a small fanny pack.

Seems to fill a niche for us Mission users. IMO the Mission is just barely not big enough to justify its own backpack straps ... this pack seems to solve that issue.

im also looking forward to testing the platow- it looks well thought out, the center strap seems to have a bit of neoprene or something wrapped around it as padding for the mission platform hinge hump, wondering how well that will work in reality
confirmed with their chat today that the straps are purposefully designed to ensure the hump stays off your back, and the 10 days was met with "yes, hopefully!"
I am running a monster pack this year, or on the days I want to go light. I am going to see how it works with 4 beast sticks strapped on top. I actually am using some paracord to help hold them on. must be a better way. I have a rolled up deer sleigher strapped on the bottom of it. I use the top snap strap to hold the bottom stick to the top of the pack, the paracord ties onto the pack hard support, up over the top stick, thru the water bad holder area, back down the other side wrapped around one of the sticks. sounds fiddly, but not to bad. will see on sat. The Shikar sticks would probably pack better on a pack like this. the beast sticks, you need to be able to fit between the steps, if you turn wrong, fall over backwards, ect... it might not be a good thing. If I am running my LW stand, just strap everything to the stand and go.

When I tried to attach my novix sticks I went off the rear. I looped one end of the paracord. Ran it through the mole loops and put a cam jam on the other end. I could just attach the loop and cam jam on each end of the stick and draw it tight. I would try a night eyz tie. I currently run a single stick and just use the gear ties. Really fast and easy and you can just leave them on the pack.

I quit dump pouches on my saddle.
This 5.11 “bail out bag” is listed as 9L and will be my go to early season / step or bolts bag (only 3 hunts) and will replace my larger set ups for shorter hunts.
Settled on this as a lower profile haversack type bag that could stay open on stand / climbs without too large of a profile. Pack was 20% off and a value at that price.
I have larger packs that shine with platforms / layers/ or weight
The danO pouch in pic or a latitude dump pouch holds my Canyon rapell set up if I pack it. I can put this in bag or clip to outside
9L for size comparison is about the size of a lumbar pack.
Room for layers and Binos if I just pack bolts.
Ropes/ license/knife/ saw/ rangefinder/ snack/ lights/amsteel back ups go in outside “ magazine pockets”.
This pack with fleece pockets outside and a fleece pocket or two inside would be ideal
One stick rig = 5 tree hopper ROS and nite eyez tie stick to bottom of pack . While heavy it works for shorter walks fine.
Perforated pocket on strap works well for milkweed.
Molle on inside allow extras to be secured.
Can be used for other activities.
Cons:
Made in Vietnam
Ballistic Nylon is not silent
Velcro is aggressive so best to keep tucked in to external pockets, elastic keeps things from dropping so far.
No internal pockets.
around 15lbs of weight is where I’d think about a different pack

Picked up a Timber Hawk Gut Hook cheap on Amazon…lots of nice features.
Gotta pick between it and Tenzing hangtime lumbar or Tenzing Flex.
