The Saddle Shootout

I just bought another one from a guy on here for my son. He said it was brand new. His Dad bought it and threw it in hunting equipment and never used it. Well he was spot on. Got it Wednesday and it is mint. Not a mark on it. I thought about replicating it. Doesn’t look too complicated.
I think it would be nice to see the design more readily available, and explored a little more. Test sits had me surprised at bow comfortable the webbing was, and the ability to position each section of webbing separately opens up some interesting possibilities.

I got the kite in size 2 and I can not believe the difference in comfort over kestrel size 1 and large mantis. Thanks again for the advice

Thread really has me rethinking my original thoughts. I’m 5”10 165-170 with a 32-33 waist. This will be my first saddle and originally I was dead set on a medium mantis but the more I think about it I might be leaning towards the kite. The extra few ounces aren’t an issue I just want something a little more comfortable than ultralight as I don’t wanna hate it starting out. Seems the consensus is the kite will cup a little better and being a beginner I might want that capability when finding my sweet spot. Now on size would the size one be ok? I’ve got quality gear so won’t be super layered up and don’t see a real need to upsize for clothing alone but any recommendations would be great.

I'd try the Size 2 first. My last pair of jeans i bought were 31s. I, like most, bought the recommended size one and didn't care for it. Worst case you can exchange it...New Tribe has great customer service. Oh and I think the kite weighs 1lb 8oz...Pretty sure if you change the buckle to the Super cool plastic cobra and an amsteel bridge it'd be at or under a pound.
