Well here's a odd question....LOL. Are there any saddle hunters left still hunting out of the old trophyline saddles? Just wondered since I may be one of a vanishing breed. LOL I've listened to alot of comments and it's hard for me to say that I might be glad to switch to the newest saddle unless there's a major league difference in comfort level. For all day hunting I think that it's just a matter of getting used to or saddle shape or a jx3 option.......totally my opinion though.

I still have mine, but I did get a mantis at the end of last season.
Let me know what you find out about the difference between the two please. I really would like a comparison that is unbiased right after the change. Thanks a bunch for responding!

I still have my older version and still use it on shorter sits!! Of course I am also the guy who still likes my Guidos Web instead of switching to the JX3!!! I am in the opinion if it works no need to fix it!!!

Depends on which model of old TL, the one I had was about 2-3 times as bulky and much heavier than most current commercial offerings. I think my kite is waaaay more comfortable than old TL. But you will get many different biased/unbiased opinions, that’s just my experience.

I have a web also......still getting my system like I want.....figuring out the straps before daylight. Still learning.

The mantis is a lot nicer for walking in the woods, I am a leaner so the mantis is more comfortable for me, the trophy line is more comfortable for sitting. I like the waist belt also , I hated having suspenders on the trophy line so it would fall down when I stood up on the platform

I have never used a trophyline but @huck72412 always said it was the best I think until recently. I believe he is a phantom convert
I think saddles keep improving
Saddles choices. Seems like they keep growing
Which is the Porsche or civic or F250 or Jeep or dirt bike.
Some are light, some are expensive, some have luxury comfort, some are bare bones and some are homemade. Fleece saddles, yarak, H2, sit drag, Jx 3, phantom, recon, Eberharts new sling, mantis, kite, kestrel, flex, preachers seat, and some I missed.

Oh cruzer and ?.. Ambush, trophy line ?

I still hunt out of my trophy line. Works fine, but I'm looking to sell it and convert to a newer, sleeker saddle.
I bought mine right before the new stuff came out......just hate to spend the money on a new one if it isn't a monumental improvement. I don't hunt as much as I used to and with my web for all day sits ...well you get the idea.

I have an old leather road trips saddle. It's my only saddle right now, but that will probably change before next season if I can knock out some of the other things I want to buy. Buying a new saddle isn't high on my priority list.

I hunted the last 15 yrs or so out of the Leather Trophy, had it dialed in as best a person could and killed many deer and countless hours with it. I bought a Mantis this year and must say its crazy stupid light and a very nicely built saddle. I couldn't get as comfortable(saddle shape) with it so kept trying different things with the best being a new amsteel bridge that cinched the loops to distribute the weight better between the hips and legs. Just sold it a month ago after seeing the new Phantom. It seems to have a really great design and possibly will end my search.

Thought about selling the TL but not worth much to most so it will end up being a conversation piece in the trophy room someday.

Happy Hunting

Hunted out of the “vintage” TL ambush for about 10 years, sold both of them and bought a Kite. No comparison in weight, bulk, and comfort.

If your happy with the trophyline keep using it.

Have four older trophyline saddles, favorite is leather road trips saddle. Have a mantis, old trophyline more comfortable to me. Probably buying H2 when mesh model comes available or pickup a used phantom in a couple months.

I agree I have all the old models and find the road trips to be the most comfortable of the vintage models!
