Truck build

Remove glove box, remove 6 or 7 screws holding a plastic cover, remove 2 hose clamps and hoses, remove heater core, clean the area where new core gonna go, install core, install hose and clamp, install plastic cover, start vehicle and get to operating temp adding coolant as necessary, look for leaks, install glovebox.....maybe 2hours...I didn't time it and had some beer breaks

How did you figure it was leaking?

I've been smelling coolant last couple days but the dead give away is when ur windshield is damp/foggy on that passenger side above the core on the interior and defrost makes it worse

Also there is a weep hole on the firewall in the engine bay below the blower plenum box... The plastic box that houses the core was designed to catch leaked fluid from dripping inside the cab and let it drain outside.... But the plastic box probably leaks and u start getting drips of coolant on the passenger floorboard eventually

I’ll keep an eye out , it’s coming…… my truck smells like so much leaking & burnt stuff it’s hard to keep up with. Broke the door handle bracket off the door panel a few weeks back & have been crawling out the passenger door. Finally fabbed a new one…. Hopefully back in business the next day or two

.Mounted winch last night. I used some jumper cables and bypassed the solenoids and controller to verify the motors good first and it goes in and out like it should. I have a bunch of old wires I've saved thru the years so I got plenty of wire....might just have to by a new lug if I need to shorten the wires I got to work. I'll go out and troubleshoot some more later after the family goes to bed. The new scamsteel winch line is at my buddies...if I get it working and wired this evening I might ride out and go get it and spool it on the drumScreenshot_20240210-170159~2.png

Replace the coolant as soon as you get all the components changed over to new. Old coolant is some nasty stuff. It will turn acidic and eat everything in its path.
