First off I want to say I have picked up quite a bit of info on here and for that I say thanks. I decided to go inexpensive in my venture towards this style of hunting. I purchased a rock climbing harness, sit drag and predator 11 mm rope. Let's just say I'm driving the pinto before buying the Cadillac (kestrel). Just to make sure I'm comfortable with this style before making a larger financial plunge. One hiccup I'm having problems with is how to run a linemens on my harness. I know it's possible to do with the sit drag but not the most recommended. My wife lost her dad to a tree stand fall when she was 16 so I try my best to not put her through that experience ever again, so safety for me is most important. The rock harness I purchased is the black diamond momentum in case that helps anyone in regards to responses. Thanks guys and gals.

Welcome to the site. I wouldn't call the sitdrag a pinto! I love my sitdrag and will have a hard time leaving it in the truck even though I have the baddest Kestrel ever made. I would get a Ernies outdoor linesman and sew it to the rc harness for the cheap and easy Linesman, I have a hard time thinking you will be disappointed.

The Ernie LB is a great option. There is a thread on it. Also DIY Sportsman (@bowhunter15) has a video on his you tube channel called One Stick Method - in that he goes over setting up a sit drag / RCH and covers adding a LB with tubular webbing. this is mentioned in a number of threads on here too. Another video to look at is G2Outdoors - his channel has a video on how he customized his sit drag,

Lol, I had a 15 year old accord when I was younger that never let me down. Couldn't kill that car! Thanks for the info.

I will watch that one again thanks.

Welcome to the site btw, just stay at ground level getting everything sorted out. Sorry to hear about a hunting accident so close to home. Make sure you have a great system for letting your wife know what exact location your at & a way to check in before & after your hunt.

If safety is your main concern, especially being new to saddle hunting; I would seek out a saddle hunter in your area that could show you the a saddle with all the safety features built in. You might just save some money in the long run and I'm sure your wife would feel better about it too.

Welcome, glad to have ya. I fill your wife’s pain lost my uncle do to complications from a 20’ fall. Be safe brother...
