Ultimate One stick

I only mean if you use the top step of your one stick during your climbing process - I did - i don't like how far away from the tree me/my feet get to step up onto the platform, nor the angles I'm at when doing so.

Not a huge deal, just not my favorite thing.

People aren't climbing bigger platforms, they're just standing on them.

Well I should know more when I get mine next week. I got the 15” so maybe not as big a deal as the 12”. We’ll see.
 
I have only climbed with mine and practiced but when your platform and stand offs are 1 piece you have more room without sticking too far out from the tree in my opinion it's not bad.
 
I guess there are advantages to living close to Goodrich. Ordered 2/6 pickup today. All I can say is this thing is sweet!

Yessir. It felt lighter and more balanced than I expected. I will post another pick when I get home. I also got my shikar mini with a scout platform to compare. Just waiting for my cam cleat and Amsteel to finish up the shikar. The mini Skokie is definitely lighter in the hand but on the tree will be the the real story.

That U.P. Looks like a nice option and at $30 add on to a new UOS it’s a steal, but $120 to add to my existing UOS is hard to swallow.

It's not $120 after you sell your current top step (scout?) and stand off.
 
I got 15” aider step distance. I requested the gray webbing. I am 5’6”. And it is easily comfortable for me. I can set the stick at almost 7’ for the first move. First step is a little tall.

For those that have used the EWO one stick with U.P. platform top.... does it hit your shin when stepping onto it?

I just took it out and didn’t notice it hitting my skin and I have the shorter stick option. It is rock solid also. I think the incorporated stand off has to do with that.

I see @DanO is coming out with the UA (Ultimate Aider) you can adjust the step length and or make it into different configurations like a swaider and you can add steps or subtract steps. Looks pretty cool.
 
I tried the up at a saddle meet-up in pa last weekend. If I didn't already have an ultimate one stick setup with an angled scout and double step on the backside of the stick I would be ordering one. The catalyst was there as well, but I really like dano's setup.
 
Mine is to arrive tomorrow. UOS with UP on top. 3 step aider. Needless to say, I’m pretty stoked
