Well my Gen 1 predator finally snapped this morning. I set it by hand, stepped on, and I heard the pop. I knew immediately what it meant. I’m standing on it right now all tethered in so I’m safe.

Here’s my question, this is day 2 of my 5 day rutcation. I only have one platform. Would you continue to use it if it still cams and it’s just cracked? Obviously I will be extra cautious and be sure I’m tied in and have zero slack in my system.
 
What are the other options? Sounds like you are stuck with it. I’d keep using it. Contact the company and see if they send one over night.

Maybe, depends if I had double steps on my sticks or any way of diy-ing a ring of steps. If that platform breaks completely it'll be noisy and could create some dangerous sharp edges. You can diy a ring of steps out of 2*6s,2 or3" PVC pipe and other items if you have access to any of that

I've done a lot riskier things! Looks like you're being safe staying tied in the whole time but you might want to pack a pair of underoos just in case it does give way the rest of the way.

Agreed. Profile says Stoughton, Wisconsin. Not anywhere close to me but perhaps there's someone close by to where you're hunting?

I wouldn't risk it if I knew it was cracked personally.

I've had a Tree Stand for over 25 Years and have never once thought it might break. However, with my newer Trophy Line Platform, I don't have that 100% confidence. There must be a big difference between these light weight Aluminum Alloys vs the ol' Aircraft Grade Aluminum. Sacrificing durability for weight. Can you post a picture of the break?

Only you know your limits and you're the only one responsible for your own safety. If you trust your gear and you ensure your tethered in prior to stepping onto the platform, it'd be your call to make......

I was thinking the same thing. I have an extra Hawk platform that's never given me trouble and a ring of steps. After reading your post I might just keep both in the truck as a backup from now on anyway.

Like someone else mentioned above I just never really give a lot of thought to my platform breaking. I just recently bought a Cruzr platform but on any quality stand I never thought about it cracking. I worry more about me installing wrong than failure. Although in 2016 I had a cheaper Field & Stream hangon fail. The "V" just behind and slightly below the seat on the post that's supposed to dig into the tree sheared off after sitting maybe 30 minutes. It was still dark. I guess it created enough space that even with two straps it hit the ground and my harness caught me.

Congrats on your harvest, I hope you had a blast on your time off! Tethrd seems like a stand up company, I'd say they'll take care of you.
 
Congrats on the buck but I would not be on the broken platform Tied in or not I don’t want to be dangling when I don’t intend to
