Would u suggest using these on tree stands??

Does anyone know if these will work on the Ernies style platform? If so I’m ordering 1 for the platform and 4 for my Beast sticks.

I can’t guarantee it would work on that type of platform. The Versa Strap will definitely work on the Beast sticks.

I can put all of my weight on my predator working around the tree with the factory strap. Will the versastrap accomplish the same on every tree?

Seems like a no brainer for the LW sticks, the strap length can vary significantly and still accomplish a secure strap. I'm using 8mm rope at the moment but I'm sure the versastrap is lighter.

They will be a bit lighter than most 8 mm static ropes I figure... 6 mm amsteel will be lighter than a strap.
I know 8 feet of ultra tech 8 mm will weigh about 5 oz. I figure you need 8 feet to make a 6 foot rope with knots. I think it says somewhere the 6 foot strap is over 3 ounces
7 feet of spliced amsteel made into a 6 foot strap will weigh about 1.8 oz if it is 1/4 inch rope.

I think it will be quiet and easy to hook up though. I ordered 4 to try. It will be way better than than a strap and a cam buckle.

Yes, if you have your Predator properly cammed it will have no trouble with side pressure. The Versa strap will cam down just like the buckle strap.

@ckossuth , I think I am the last guy using un modded helium sticks because I like straps and the way the sticks nest without having drill out holes. I would love to get rid of the buckle and use these straps on the heliums. Do you think I could use something other than a versa button that would work with these straps in pre existing hole and would allow the sticks to nest without mods/drilling? Thanks!

You can probably just use them the way they are, just hook over the opposite side D loop tie in thing.

From what I'm seeing, I would say just remove the factory strap bracket. Then go to Lowes/Home Depot etc and get the pieces to build your own button. All you need is the right length bolts, nylon locking nuts, aluminum tubing to cut spacers out of, and fender washers (1/14" to 1 1/2"). Google "DIY versa button" and you'll see what I'm talking about. It's been done a lot. It looks like there is a substantial distance between the sticks when they're nested so adding a button shouldn't be an issue. I've never owned Heliums. I'm just looking at pics. It looks like it should work fine though.

Just wanted to add that if you don’t want to cut aluminum tubing, aluminumspacers.com is a good source. They have a variety of 1/4” ID spacers to chose from. I used some 3/8”x 1/2” on my diy sticks versa buttons and 7/8” x 3/4” for support inside the 1/16” wall tube between the standoffs and steps.

@ckossuth, do you see any reason why the versa strap would not work on the stock helium strap attachment? It slants posteriorally at about a 45 degree angle.

I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t. If it was me though I would probably find a way to zip tie the terminal loop somehow so you wouldn’t have to worry about it sliding off. All you can do is try it but I think it will work.

So what's the difference between a versa-strap for $25 or woven daisy chain webbing from dutchware for .75 a foot?

https://dutchwaregear.com/product/woven-daisy-chain-webbing/

I'm not saying the price is unfair given the amount of work involved, but I dont really see a function difference. Is the loop smaller or something?

Yes, it's the loop size (too big) and the amount of space the woven area takes up between loops. It adds even more distance between the loops which results in way to much slop to function properly. It's also 1" wide. That in itself is not a deal breaker, but it would be harder to get in and out from behind a button.
This woven webbing has been brought up before. I urge anyone to try it and you'll see very quickly what I'm talking about.

Not that it matters but did I get 5/8 or 3/4 inch strap. Mine is still in the mail. Canada post has had disruptions to service
