What bow do you shoot?

Mathews - Hel-M 60lbs. 30” draw.

A lot of guys upgrade each year or so. I have not found a bow that I can shoot as well as this one.

I'm still shooting the first bow I ever bought which was a cheapy. Redhead kronik. I keep saying I'm going to upgrade, but have you have to do it.

Bowtech patriot VFT 2006ish. One of the smoothest bows ever made. The freedom cams were fantastic. I bought a 2004 Bowtech Liberty VFT and hunted it until I hit my Summit with the bottom cam. I haven’t found a replacement cam for it. It’s not worth fixing if I got to try to buy it new.

Hoyt Reflex Grizzly. Almost bought the Mathews Triax, but focused on Kestrel, Mantis, Predatot and other gear, so it will wait till next year.

Hoyt Powermax, 70# at 29.5” draw.

I shoot a Hoyt because the nearest reputable shop to me is a Hoyt guy. You can pretty much order any bow online, but if the guy that’s gunna service it isn’t familiar with it then that is less than optimal. It helps that it’s a really good bow for the money. I’d have gotten a Defiant if he had a lefty in stock! It was the middle of the rut and I blew up my first bow by dry firing (never practice when you’re mentally exhausted). So i couldnt wait to order the bow I wanted but I am really happy with the Powermax.

I actually just traded my Triax for a realm

I’ve made fun of Blowtech for a long time lol. I shoot the different models every year just to see what’s changed and this year I couldn’t put the Realm down. Just a great shooting rig! I do miss my Obsession though.

Mathews Q2xl - i love Mathews and l like a longer bow. I think its more forgiving. Its an old model, feels so comfortable. Not sure if I will ever upgrade.

I've been thinking about upgrading or getting a backup bow. I'm currently shooting a Mission Hype DXT, currently 60LBS, 29.5. I really like the adjustability of the bow.

I made the mistake of shooting the Triax local shop a while back, man was it smooth. I do worry about the length of that bow, and the string angle, shop owner said it didnt matter that much with the newer bows.

I'm really interested in getting accurate out to 60yrds, moving out west in a year I've been told you need to be able to shoot farther and a higher end smoother bow will help with that.
