What do you drag a deer with?

Depends. Sometimes its cart. Sometimes its a sled. Sometimes its as simple as throwing the animal over my shoulders and walking it out.
Beat me to it...I only shoot small deer and let the bigger ones go for others to shoot. Easier to carry this way Screenshot_20180831-151950_Chrome.jpeg

They want to confirm the whole animal. They want to know the meat you’re packing is from one animal, the sex of the animal. Proof of antler status (sex) must be attached.
They want the whole animal to make sure you are not using a head and rack multiple times over to poach.

Sounds like a case of you working for them, vs them working for you.

I've had multiple conversations with fish and game about what kind of sense it makes to say "Here's 50,000 acres for you to hunt, but you can't drive on the roads and if you shoot a deer you have to drag all 150lbs out in 85 degree heat. Oh, and you ha e to pay to hunt it, but that guy can ride his bike and birdwatch for free. Also, we harvest the timber."

:triumph:

I went to the gutless, debone, and pack/bike ride out. Haven't looked back! If I kill one down behind the new house, it will catch a ride in the Polaris Ranger.

Ya. It’s no different here. Common sense has left the room. We used to have a wildlife area near me. You could use it for anything. It even has an old gravel pit that was a well know range. People would drive 4 hours to shoot there. It had covered benches, Steel targets.
Then one day someone on their horse complained to the township. The town then had no choice but to shut down the range. So, now you can’t shoot in the gravel pit but you can legally hunt anywhere on the property. You know out where the horse riders are. Oh ya. It’s now a wildlife preserve.

Dang, no need to brag! :tonguewink:

Last couple years the jet sled has been the ticket. I was a deer cart guy for years but the ground I hunt has a ton of obstacles and the cart got caught on everything. They are great when you get out to the trail or road but the sled just plows over stuff and honestly I find it easier than the cart with force required to pull. Dry leaves, grass, sand whatever . Pine shats are like ice it just glides. Plus you can slide it in your rig or truck bed and don’t have to worry about blood getting everywhere. It turns all the hassle into a one man job for me
