Hey Guys,

Just curious what your favorite carabiner is and why you prefer or like it over others? Also does color matter to you when it comes to carabiner choice or is that low on your priority list when choosing a “Biner”?

Thanks,

Dmm ultra o is nice.

I like petzl William and petzl AM'D a little more but I use all 3.

The petzl triple locking action is a little easier. The ultra o is still a little stiff but easier after some use.

All are available in a flat black finish, you just have to look around.

Thanks, guys I was thinking about the Petzl William or the Petzl William Ball Lock. I was just wondering what other saddle hunters are using on their rigs.

Thanks,

I use the petzl william tri lock and the amd. Both work well. They are both on the large side which is nice when cold weather hits and gloves become standard attire. Currently im looking for a slightly smaller carabiner and am looking at the rock exotica pirate.

Black Diamond RockLock Twistlock Carabiner

Easy to work with one hand. Fits rope in nicely. Auto locks for my peace of mind.

Thanks guys I will let you know what I decide I want to go check them out and try them to see which one I like best. I’m leaning towards the William Petzl right now but that might change once I handle them and see how they feel.

Thanks,

Roger

Yeah I thought the William would be too big but once I started using it I love it. Doesn't really weigh significantly more.

The williams are light in weight, lighter then some which are even smaller!

The Screwlock is the lightest but you have to be OK with manually locking the carabiner. I prefer it. Especially since we we don't need to constantly open and close them like some climbing applications would.

Thanks, guys I have to get my butt over to EMS or REI and check all these suggestions out. I appreciate the input and advice!
