What range finder do you use and how do you like it.

I have been using a bushnell Scout DX w ARC for about 5 years now. While I was practicing my saddle skills in the rain and it finally quit. Changed the CR2 battery and got a display but moisture was everywhere. Did the bag of rice thing to no avail. This is what I just bought to replace it. Nikon has a great little ranger the 8398 ACULON laser rangefinder , but it doesn't have ARC so I bought one of these
Bushnell Hunting Laser Rangefinders 202461 6X21 G Force Dx 1300 ARc . Anybody using one?

I’ve got a Leupold tbr1200 and like it but don’t use it much for whitetail hunting. I don’t have much buisiness shooting past my first pin. That gives me about thirty yards.

I think it’s a Bushnell chuck adams edition with ARC. I figure at this point with technology they’re all about the same for the average whitetail hunter.

I’ve got a Vortex ranger 1300.
Thing that sold it was the clip, it clips in my right hand pants pocket, perfect for me in the saddle.
And Vortex (although Chinese made) has a lifetime warranty.

Wow, identical, Simmons included.

I do, however, still use my Simmons surveying to find corners in the woods. When I’m having to cross ravines or thick areas that kill my pacing I’ll range a tree on the other side then just make my way over to it and resume my pacing.

I’ve had a Simmons for a few years works pretty good but has black spots in the lens still use it for practice shooting. for hunting I use a nikon aculon nice small size to it and gives a quick reading

Vortex fury hd, it doubles as my binoculars as well.. love them and would buy the same exact ones again if anything ever happened to them.

Nikon with out arc. Never needed arc my shots are usually close. I use a pendulum sight zero it in
at 25 yards and I'm good out to 35 yards . But like I said my shot are usually 20 yards and in.

So far this off season, using a Garmin XERO. I know, I know-that's some serious cash (got a good deal). Getting older and the pins aren't quite as easy to see. Love shooting carry optics on my firearms, 50yd head shots with a pistol, so I thought I'd try it. Pretty sweet. Still got my Chuck Adams tho. Really like the ezv concept, but wanted too try the gadget first, lol.

I have a nikon. I really never use it and just end up guessing. To much movement before the shot and as humid in early season and foggy in winter as it is, they will never work in those conditions. Same reason i would stay away from garmin xero unless they dealt with this?

Leupold 1200i tbr. I use it year around for archery tournaments and hunting both. Its stood the test of time and has been a great piece of equipment. I would also recommend the Nikon 3i or 7i. Me personally I like the reticle in the range finder to be red. Its much better for low light conditions.

Not a rangefinder recommendation, but advice regarding wet electronics.

ANYTIME you suspect your electronics have gotten wet, if at all possible, disconnect the power source. Remove the battery, unplug it or whatever is needed. When electrical current, no matter how small, is combined with moisture, corrosion is greatly accelerated. Disconnecting power ASAP gives you more time to dry things out before permanent damage is done.

I’m using the Halo 800. It has ARC. No complaints for what it cost me. I got it on sale for under $100. Just as accurate as my Bushnell Pro 1000 and half the weight

Also, electronic recommendation.......bag of rice and in conjunction with it use a hair dryer on low and let it blow for at least a half hour directly on the unit. No battery. Had this work before but it's not 100 percent
