What's everyone slinging arrows with?

How much longer? to me that would show weaker shaft and that could slow it down because of it not efficient with the bow set up. Its going to come out of the bow with more flexing and it would slow the arrow down. You want the arrow to recover/stabilize as quick as possible so it will keep up its momentum. This is part of the reason people like arrows on the stiff side.

I shot through my chronograph where I measured a 36" distance.

Easton Axis 400. 27" and 400 grains
GT Pierce Platinum 400: 26.5" and 397 grains
Victory VAP 45/60: 25" and 377 grains

Axis speed: S1-263, S2-264, S3-263. Average 263.3 fps. KE-61#'s. Momentum: .467
GT Speed: S1-264, S2-266, S3-269. Average 266.3 fps. KE-62#'s. Momentum: .469
Victory VAP: S1-271, S2-270, S3-270. Average 270.3 fps. KE-61#'s. Momentum: .452

I just realized that the last time I checked my Axis arrows I was shooting 52lbs and now I'm shooting 61lbs. That's why I thought the GT had less drag...which it would outside in the wind.

Now those numbers look much better.

Thanks for checking.

I'm glad I did...I can honestly use either of these three arrows for my set-up...I just love the looks of the GT's and that's why I switched. I think I have enough arrows to last me about 10 years.

Easton Axis...10 arrows.
GT platinum: 15 arrows
Victory arrows: 10 arrows.

When you find an arrow you like you have to buy them up. I love the carnivor 250's becuase I can throw alot of weight up front and they fly awesome. I have 3 dozen becuase I found someone selling them for 50% off. Wont need to buy for a looooong time.

Where did you get that strap for your release?

2018 Bowtech Realm. 68lbs, 29" draw
QAD HDX Rest
Axcel Accutouch Carbon Pro single .10 pin
8" DCAP Carbon stabilizer with 3oz of weight out front

For arrows I'm using Gold Tip Velocity Xt's, 300 spine with 175gr up front. Iron Will 125 non-vented broad heads. Arrows are around 460gr I believe.

Every deer I have shot with this rig was like a hot knife through butter. Watched them all fall over in less than ten seconds. Of course a scary sharp head placed in the right spot had everything to do with that, not the bow ;)

My set up is pure traditional only:
Bow: Samick Sage 50# @28 with a fast flight plus 18 strand string, 2 wool puff silencers, two tied nock set up.
Arrow : Beman Centershot 400 spine 31.5 length, 75 grain brass insert, 175 grain 2 blade head. total grains - 580
Strap on 4 arrow quiver from Big Jim's bow shop.

Money got tight five years ago for a period of time and I taught myself how to hunt in the backyard to help augment store-bought meat. Thought I'd maximize the hunting opportunities by taking up archery while waiting for gun season. Bought a low cost right hand Matthews Craze package before I knew what I was doing. Took one deer that year with a bow. Figured out after some thorough investigation I should be shooting lefty due to my eye dominance. When things started to level-out, I switched to a left hand New Breed Genetix and some Muzzy tipped Maxima Blue Streaks. In my opinion, that thing can't be beat! Been harvesting backyard nannies with it ever since.20190307_203205.jpeg

PSE Premonition SC
60lb draw
30" ATA
28.5" draw
3 pin
G2 paint
No stabilizer
No wrist sling
No detachable quiver
No limb silencers
Tru Fire edge thumb release
Maxima reds

Like to keep my bow as simple and compact as possible. I find that easy to do based on the fact that I don't normally shoot at deer outside of 35 yards in my hunting spots.

Just bought my setup last year:
Matthews Halon 32 70lbs, 27 inch draw
QAD rest
HHA single pin sight
2 bee-stinger stabilizers
Black eagle zombie slayer arrows
Wasp Jak-Knife expandable broadheads

Had no intention of upgrading from my Mathews creed but threw $20 in a raffle at my local archery shop and still cant believe my good luck. Mathews Vertix. Shooting at 65lbs right now, but damn, it feels like 55. The draw is that smooth. Just added the integrated rest fro QAD. A bit pricey but considering my cost for the bow I figured it was worth it. Still keeping the creed for a back up but so far I am thrilled with the vertix. Tossed on a Black gold ascent verdict and am in the process of tuning up now.

Ok, I'll be honest, shoulders been rough last few months. I picked up this oneida tomkat from @cedar paul recently and im 90% sure it will be my go to unless my shoulder is feeling great, then it's the recluse.
P.s. I think this is the nicest bow I've ever owned.
