Where to find aluminum stock

I read where Dave bought his online at one time but I can't find that thread with the platforms he built for his buddies.

I found some at a local metal supplier, $23 for a 8ft section of 1.25 square aluminum. Cheapest I saw on Amazon was $11 for a foot.

Yes I've seen some there before but they don't have a great selection in sizes. I ordered from onlinemetals.com. Hope shipping doesn't take too long.

Don't buy the aluminum from home depot or t-supply it is not rated for what we are using it for. It will handle light weight. I have buckled this aluminum before.

Good point, I missed that. You want the 6061 stuff.

Yeah, just realised I got 6063 instead of 6061... So the holes for the platform bolt are starting to get bigger.

Would the lone wolf sections work or is everyone finding them to be too narrow? I've got 3 sections with no hardware that I have no use for. I'd be happy to sell if there was interest.

They carry the 6063 stuff. You want the 6061T stuff.

It all depends on what hardware they are using to build a platform. The hardware I'm using fits 1 1/4 stock.
