Two mods I made were a paracord cobra weave zipper pull and a sinch rope added to the top of the bag when I went from 12 to 8 steps. Now I just need to do this for the bottom of the bag.

Well, good news is that the top sinch didn't require sewing... just cut two small holes within the folded material and thread the paracord through it.

I watched Andrew’s video where he stated that he removes the bottom of the bag for his personal steps and chewed on it for a bit....
Why would the Owner of a company give ill advice on his product having over 15 years of experience with it?
So I tried it and I must say i am liking it.

1. No slipping zipper
2. No tree debris in the bag
3. Easy to fold up and store away when in tree
4. Something to grab when zipping up
5. Ropes lie more uniform through the bag as opposed to hanging over it...I find them much easier to control when installing stepps

I also added a small rope on the zipper for easier zip up.

Looks good but I have a question. Are the ropes secured in the bag some how? Do you transport them in your backpack instead of on your shoulder? What keeps the ropes from falling out the bottom and dragging behind you when you are walking through the woods?

The ropes are stored in the bag as usual with nothing added. This mod would not work with a rope that is more supple like amsteel as it would not stay conformed and would make its way out. The factory rope is stiff enough to hold its folded shape. I have not had any issues of it falling through...I have had to push up an inch or so while hiking in due to the rope settling a bit. I suppose if you just stuffed your ropes in without any rhyme or reason one may slip through. But I have not had any negative affects with removing the bottom.
