Wild edge steps with etrier method...how to hook on step?

What about this idea? Maybe even a longer Prussik so that you can kind of pull up the aider as your making the last step up into the WE step and unhook it to then ba able to hook it to the next WE step.a bigger carabiner is needed.and better rope for prussik. Just a test run.

that awesome. eliminates the noise from metal to metal and puts you a bit away from the tree. ill try this with a fifi hook and paracord to pull it up. what size rope are you using here?

i tried using the fifi hook on the bottom pick part, but it seems just a little too close to the tree. had a scenario where my aider fell :(

That prussik is just some cheap maybe 5mm to do a quick test. I have a bunch of 7/64 amsteel but not sure about that for the prussik. I would think it’s strong enough but I need to ask around. I don’t want to be the diy guy that met his demise. Also I was think of some sort of lanyard so I can’t drop my aider.

Hook, paracord, zip ties stealth stripping.

I use the WE stepps with a K/S. I used the zip ties then wrapped them in electrical tape to soften the sharp edges and to enhance the bump, and to make sure they don't move, then I wrapped them with the vet tape.

I’ve seen some with an oversized vinyl coated s hook like what’s on the end of a ratchet strap...I wonder where I can go pick up just the hook
I cut one off of a ratchet strap for mine then girth hitched the aider through the hole in the hook.

I’m considering ordering these. I think it will take care of the slippage issues a biner presents. More to come.

I have one of these hooks but once I install it, it twists my aider slightly.
