Probably not. Daughters birthday (didn't plan that right). Oh well hopefully in a few years she will ask to spend her birthday in a saddle or stand.

I will be out. I usually make a decision on area to hunt the night before based on weather conditions. Then I figure out the exact tree based on specific wind when I get into that area.

Most definitely! Got drawn for an early hunt that starts 2 weeks before the rest of the state deer season. So only 17 days left! I for sure have the area picked, but have will decide on the tree the morning of. I have a camera soaking in the area, so I will pull it and go off of that last minute intel to decide the tree. And of course, with public land, I have a back up area in case there are multiple hunters already in my #1 spot.

Not sure I'd I'll make deer opener, but I'll definitely make my local WMA's pig opener. May or may not climb; probably wear out some boot leather following the edges of the wetter swamps. If I find ground 0, i may hang for a bit.

We need an eleventh option: I'd love too but both of my kids have sports that day, it's the first time they'll be playing and my wife has said under no circumstances will I miss them play so I'm going to be a wise husband and not court death.

Absolutely not. I do not hunt unless the daytime temps are below 70 and that will be a month off from our opener. All about quality of hunt versus quantity. My ideal season would be to setup on a buck bed the very first evening in the woods, shoot him, and call it a season.

If it is not 90 degrees out I will be all over it and depending on the humidity i might hunt the 90 degrees!!!!!! LOL I just can't help myself!!!

Call it a season?! Lol call it a MEAL, maybe. But that’s also because I have gone 3 seasons only hunting a week or less each. I’m itching for the woods.

I get you and I was gung ho for many moons too. As I have seasoned with age, I wont compromise on being both comfortable and productive, and honestly was not in early seasons all those years. I would have earned far more wife and family points back then had I hunted less days, but the right days. I also only hunt a spot 2 or 3x on my private land all season, and there are not that many spots. On public, only 1x per spot, so not many there either.

September 28th I will for sure be in a tree. Hopefully overlooking one of my pawpaw patches if they are still producing.

It's like a ritual for me. Take off from work on opening day every year. I may not make the morning sit, bit will be out there in the afternoon! Season starts in a little over a week!
