Get your minds out of the gutter....

Do you remember your thoughts the first time you hunted out of the sit/drag? I remember vividly thinking "Well here it goes...no one will ever find my body." After I got to climbing height and settled in all I could think about then was how awesome it was....For the rest of the hunt it was more like...."OK now how can I make this better?"

I was already using the top belt of an Aero when I tried the SD so it was an easy transition. I was never uncomfortable even when first starting to use a saddle I thought it was so much fun lol. My dad on the other hand thought I was nuts and would soon be dead :D

For me it was the same. But hell if I go out im going out my way doing what I love. :grinning:

I was so excited! Believe it or not, I killed a good 8 point buck the very first hunt out of my Trophyline Saddle.

I've traveled VERY deep down the rabbit hole since that hunt in 2010.

Heck the first time I got to hunting night with a sitdrag, even though I had tried from ground level and a few feet off, I was nervous to lean back and trust it... even with the RC harness. When I finally did, I kept telling myself "whatever you do, do not grab the prussic knot!" It took me a minute or 2 to relax. After that I just sat there for about 15 or 20 minutes and had a doe walk in on me! She had no clue. At that moment, I was hooked!

No, im sorry!!! My saddle hunting history has been limited to only one manufacturer.:tonguewink:

My first saddle is the Evolution, and I remember getting to hunting height. I was nervous to take the lineman belt off and be attached solely on the.tether. Now what freedom it provides. But that first time I thought I was going to die.

I remember thinking "I'm free" lol. It literally changed my hunting tactics that day. I don't have to look for that straight limbless tree anymore and the weight difference. lol I made it to the tree and wasn't pouring with sweat. I did how ever sweat like hades trying to climb that morning. Out of shape fat guy putting up climbing sticks in the dark. Lol

I do remember wondering if I should take my climber in the woods just in case I don't like it after a couple of hours. I sold the climber by the next weekend. Lol

My first hunt in a saddle was the tree saddle. I never ever had second thoughts about it and I was hooked from the first moment. Now some of your stories are reminding me of some of the climbing techniques I've tried... but that could be a whole new thread lol.
