I PM 'd a couple of people on AT about this but I thought I would throw it out there for the masses. I am considering buying a tree saddle type stand - trophy line (used) aero hunter or Guidos web. The problem is I can't decide. I hunt a private lease with 12 other guys in S.W. GA so my walks are not that far. However, I am tired of hauling my Summit around and then having to pick the perfect tree only to find out it's not in the perfect location. I have no physical limitations and don't typically hunt all day. With that said; I am 41 years old (good shape) and do sit in my stand the majority of the day during the rut, so I don't want to be uncomfortable all day. Thanks in advance for the help.

I have not personally tried the guido's web so I can't comment on it too much, but I do know that its main benefit is comfort. You pay for that with size and bulk though.

As far as the tree saddle, I love mine. I have used it for years and it is great for 1/2 day sits. I also do as many all day sits during the rut as I can and it can get to be a little uncomfortable during those but I think any stand gets uncomfortable for all day sits. Point is I probably put in 7-10 all day sits a year in a saddle between the rut and gun season so it is definitely doable. Your biggest problem will be finding a tree saddle.

I have not hunted with my aero hunter yet, I have only tested it out and practiced with it. It is more similar to the tree saddle than the guidos web but it has a lot of differences as well. Based on my limited experience with the aero hunter and what I have heard from other saddle hunters this is my recommended saddle at this time due to its availability. It is nice and light and adjustable and I expect that it should do the job nicely.

Thanks. It's almost like buying a boat no one type does everything. Unfortunately, I've never used any of them so I don't have a whole lot to compare them to. Again, thanks.
