Just broke my platform! [emoji30]

Hi boys and girls,

Interested I the Predator platform. While setting up my platform (xop mod seat with Ernie Powers bracket) today, like an idiot, I had the strap too tight while trying to cam the platform and ended up busting one of the attachment points.

Now this is no ones fault but mine as @Ernie Powers made me an excellent platform.

Of course this couldn’t have happened at worse timing as our season has already started.

So, with that being said, has anyone been using the Predator platform? If so, how do you like it? Are they arriving quickly or will there be a super long weight?

Thanks all & happy hunting,

DATM

Should be able to get some amsteel and tie it with a wild edge step knot. Platform is still good to use. You will just tie onto the outer edge of the platform instead of the accessory hook you had been using.

If I’m wrong hopefully somebody else will correct me

You can also girth hitch the cam buckle strap around the platform through that same hole by wrangling the strap through the sewn webbing loop. You'll just have to make sure you don't break the other hook on the other side. Might want to file down the jagged edges from the broken hook though.

I actually thought of this and was wondering what to attach a piece of Amsteel Blue to. Makes perfect sense man. Thank you

Oh man what an awesome idea. I think this might be my go to for now. Thank you much

Were you attaching the strap directly to the hook? Or looping through the platform and just using the hook to keep the strap in place?

I actually wrapped it once. Not a full wrap before attaching it to the hook. Lesson learned

I use a girth hitch on one side of mine and a caribiner on the other side to connect. The lone wolf seat I had didn’t have the little dog ears.

Also a great idea. I have caribiners all over the garage. Only concern is the noise it will make. Any thoughts on keeping it quiet?

We were playing with the strap vs amsteel at saddlepalooza. The downside was wrapping the strap before hooking onto the little ear. I held off on getting my own xop platform after watching how much the seat flexed with hunters waaaaaay lighter than me. At some point we actually broke @g2outdoors lone wolf seat. I never stood on it. Fast forward a year and a half and I just got a set of helium sticks. Looking at the factory strap I can’t help but think back to the xop platform and wonder if that hook on the hawk strap would fit on the xop platform enough to make it work. Does anyone have both and have they tried it?

I don't have a seat to test, but those hooks are pretty handy. I have used them for a few things, including a knaider.

I have the hooks but don't have an XOP seat anymore to test it on. I don't think they would fit though.
