Ratchet strap for ameristeps

What ratchet strap do you use? Is there a ready made one or do you mod a regular one. Out the package a regular strap seems cumbersome at best.

Here is another option. Using the original strap and any ratchet strap. The hook can hook directly on the frame of the ratchet.

The hoo was too big here to hook on the pin.

^^I do it exactly like Ernie has posted. On some buckles the flat hook will fit on the buckle pin and on others you have to hook it on the frame. And the original Ameristep straps are the way to go as they are thicker and more rigid than most.

I opened up my flat hook and re-bent it to fit the pin on the ratchet.
