Has anyone given climbing similar to the one stick method but with just a platform. I’ve been playing around with this a little with an 8.5# Lone Wolf. It’s definitely doable. I’m going to have a smaller platform put together soon and see if I can make this work.
Interested if anybody else has tried and the positive and negatives.

I hooked an aider tp my LW platform, was not easy to climb it. Maybe not exactly what you were asking. Pics in my diy thread

Like connect a platform low on tree, stand on it, connect tether to tree and sinch up ropeman. Hang in saddle and move platform up?

If that works, I gotta try it. I am getting sick of the climbing sticks method for a lot of reasons.

Y’all kill me with the extremes you’ll go to to get up a tree. Why not just use 2 tethers, the first with one foot loop and the second with 2 or 3?

Put first tether with one step on tree.

Put second tether on tree as high as you can get it.

Put foot in loop on the lowest tether and stand up.

Raise second tether the additional amount you just gained.

Loosen first tether and climb second.

Set first tether below second tether and repeat to your minimalist, ultralight heart’s content.

Been there done that. Then I ran the tethers though a pvc pipe it was nice have the pvc to hold on to instead of just a rope. I haven’t perfected it yet. But it’s doable

I just came up with this while reading the above, but it seems to me that it would all be about getting the most efficient step locations worked out.

Yeah.....I've tried this, similar to @sampotter's 2 rope climbing method, but with just 2 ropes and it's not all that easy, good luck though, if you figure it out I'd love to see a video!

I’ve used this method 75% of the time the past 3 seasons. The only time I don’t use it is when I can’t reach around the tree or there are enough limbs to just climb instead. Very effective with practice and can be done without working up a sweat.

Does anyone here just use like 4 or 5 seperate multi step aiders all the way up as if they were several sticks?

Can you take pictures of your set up and how it's changed? I read in your post when you invented this method that you'd changed some stuff. I'd also like to give you full credit for letting me be aware that this forum existed. Searching for ways to access a tree with my web last year I found this forum. I now check this site daily, several times a day to be truthful. Have sticks, bottom of climbing stands, spurs, and an SRT set up. I love SRT, but having trees set is a must. Have graduated to a sit drag for most of my hunting and only use the web from time to time. Thanks.

Less cumbersome, lighter weight and quieter than sticks but probably a tad slower. I was looking for a good reason to try rappelling and with this climbing method you guys just gave it to me.
Great video @noxninja
