No more sticks too close together wasting space or too far apart making for a Giant and noisy step up.

Do you think that you could use the daisy chain as a tree tether, too? Feed the daisy chain through the eye splice around the tree (i.e., girth hitch), and then pick a daisy chain hole on the tag end to attach it to the bridge with a caribiner

You could but I’d use a heavier rope. I don’t think it would be wise however. Not adjustable without disconnecting. I frequently adjust my tether length while hunting. I’d hate to lose the ability to do that.

Could just use a carabiner off your lineman’s belt to stay connected and change length.

Staying connected seems easy. Just add the next loop or remove a loop from the carabiner. You dont have to totally disconnect and move 3 loops or something. I set my tether now with ropeman1 and when I adjust its not feet at a time, its down 6", back up 6". 1/4" amsteel seems like it would work fine. Or make a whoopie sling out of amsteel for a tether. That would give you infinite adjustment. Ive been looking at rope and just not a fan of the stiff stuff that needs figure 8 knots and all the arborist guys are using 11.7mm ropes. Must be a reason they dont use the 3/8" rope some are using for a tether on here.

Yeah, I was just trying to get away from the stiff ropes. I currently use a treesaddle linesman belt for my tether since it roles up nice and compact. I was thinking the daisy chain with amsteel would be very light and compact.

After another two hunts under my belt using the 7/64 Amsteel daisy chain I’ve decided that this method is the SHIZ! I love this. Makes setting up and taking down so dang easy. It’s super easy to get the bottom of the stick exactly the right distance from the top of the last stick. Just hook the closest link to the button, reach hands inside rope and move up or down until it’s where you want it, slide stick down with your hands and it’s set. Step up and you get almost no additional settling.

This is good to know. When I switched to the rope mod for my Heliums, I made whoopie slings out of 1/4" amsteel. I tried them out but didn't like the fiddle factor. Too much time trying to get them just right. I'm sure with practice I would get much faster but I really like simple. I had made the whoopie slings a little long (around 7') so, if I didn't like them, I would just turn them into straight ropes and use them like the original rope mod. When I saw the daisy chain method I liked how simple it seemed. I made one daisy chain and left the other two straight to see which one I liked better. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Your information has made me excited to try it. It does seem like the most simple method of all.

I tried them side by side. I had 1/4" Amsteel ropes with spliced Brummels on the versa button. The 7/16" daisy chain wins, hands down. I was laughing at myself that I even want to take my sticks out with me even when I'm going out to a tree I already have a tree set up with bolts.
I hope to make a video showing how simple this is.

Do it! I am not a video maker but I am a video watcher. I know how much I like videos over just reading about something. Some of these threads have some really complicated explanations. Seeing it in action will definitely convey the information better.

I agree. A picture is worth a thousand words.
My kids all get home from college this afternoon. I’ll employ their services in making a video.

I’ve never posted a video before. What do I have to do? When I try to download something, it only show photos in my gallery to choose from.

Do I need to do anything to the video in my phone to format it or anything?

Thanks for the video! I already knew that I was going to switch to the daisy chain. Like I said earlier, I had one made already. Well, last night I started to make the other two. I also like that strap. One piece of equipment to do three jobs, that's awesome. Did you call it Carl's strap?

Yeah, Carl makes and sells them. It’s basically a daisy chain made from webbing. I’ll find the link to his thread on them.
