Finally edited last weekend's video. I need to get better at my filming, but it's hard to focus when you're having such a good time.
The Bartram Canoe Trail, part of the Alabama Scenic Trail, literally runs through our backyard. The floating platforms tucked away on the backwaters are hands-down my wife and I's favorite places to camp. Clean and convenient, and very pretty. We both love canoe camping because you can bring everything but the sink (like car camping) but access remote areas (like backpacking). You also never have to worry about a water supply, or getting off the trail.
The weather couldn't have been better, with lows in the mid 50s and highs in the low 70s. Bluebird skies, and just enough breeze to keep the slough from getting stagnant. Mosquitoes were very manageable, but the gnats were out in force.
The food was delicious. Ribeye and fresh asparagus for dinner, and Conecuh County sausage and eggs for breakfast.
We actually have the car backed for this weekend too. We try to hit it as much as we can when the weather/river permits. Definitely recommend canoe camping if you ever get the chance!
