Here's a not-so-quick video showing a pretty typical excursion into my big backyard. I tend to scout and hog hunt all the way to the end of April, and start prepping spots in May.

So far I've got 7 knocked out. They're slow going what with the heat, humidity, poisonous vegetation, biting insects, and reptilians. I'm doing good to knock out 2 trees in one morning, and generally only get one done before the noon sun catches up to me.

Hopefully this lights a fire under a few guys to get out there and put some sweat equity in. Gear will never outperform hard work a d proper planning!

 
Liked your video ,I hunt by a river here in the upstate of SC. only problem I had last year was too much rain flooded out all my spots .
 
Presets are great. Another nice video. Were you just cleaning up the holes you drilled last year?
 
Yep, chocolate milk. You weren't exaggerating.

Are akrins the same as acorns? Can't tell if it's an accent issue or a type plant I've never heard of. Either seems likely.

It was warm enough last weekend that you didn’t have to do much more than breathe to work up a good sweat. I usually hunt between 20-25’. I’ve started stretching my presets on up around 30’ as long as it doesn’t interfere with shooting too much. Unlike my run and gun setups that would require another stick or a couple more wild edge steps the penalty for hunting higher with bolts is small.
