Have you ever NOT shared information?

Nope, but just because I don't know anything...and because I'm cheap and don't buy anything new except the srt setup. I doubt saddle hunters will make a dent in the climbing market.

Saddle hunters definitely make a dent in any market if they are making something that works well for us. We don’t make up a large portion of sales for companies that make climbing gear. Gear is made in runs. If wild country makes 2000 ropeman1’s every three months because that’s what there history shows they will sell and we suddenly discover how useful it is to us and order 500 of them it makes a huge difference in product availability. With saddle hunting becoming more popular it’s going to have a larger effect. It’s not every item we discover. The ones that are really effective and affordable get adopted. Ask the people at wild edge. Andrews done a good job marketing but I guarantee the knaider/ swaider method shared here has had a major impact on his sales. We call it the saddlehunter effect and it’s real.

@kyler1945 I"m totally with you on this. But the flip-side for me is those who assume the idea is perfect(for them and everyone right off that bat. Example Carbon Bolts. When I found them and after playing with them for a bit, I let a few select people know about them that I trusted and were competent and proficient enough in their skills to not kill themselves. The second I let the cat out of the bag on them, people jumped on them, and almost assumed they were perfect for them. Well some broke, very few people did the actual research on them to understand their limitations, or think about the care and maintenance, and now those of us who like them, use them, and find them to be a safe for ourselves have felt stuck defending them(including yourself!)and repetitively spouting specs and SOME people even think we should be responsible for having them professionally tested and share those results too(which is ridiculous). When the site was smaller and individuals were more motivated and excited to be involved figuring this stuff out together I wouldn't hesitate to share. Now, I"m definitely holding back anything cutting edge and only sharing with a select group(sorry guys) that I trust.
I must not be in the group my inbox is empty! LOL

HAHAHA....Well if you want it, its yours--I"ll even give you a special price!

BTW we all bored at work today or what??

This is almost like old times. Almost
I’m actually through the jx3 “I want one list” and am currently on the I paid for one list.

Not really bored at work today. Have had a rough week and a half and realized I have have fallen short on smarta$$ comment quota for the week.

I want in the group, I use at my own risk... I promise I won't sue anybody for bad ideas

I would rather hear about a broken bolt and take a tiny bit of flack. I have received criticism on this site. Some of it good and some of it - well my opinion differs and that is okay
I wonder if the real underlying concern here is the threat of litigation which I know is real especially in the USA and increasingly in Canada

All that said there is so much innovation and difference of opinion on things that are ultimately not for me that I evaluate each thing myself and make up my own mind

I will share my few ideas with anyone and if it is risky I try to give a warning. Example 1/16 wall sticks. I use them but they have a greater risk of failure Use spacers in them
Carbon bolts. I had one fail. I use them only on the bottom 4 holes

I'm currently working out my final weeks before moving to a new job so I am definitely struggling with focus, I bet I have closed this web page 5 times already this morning, only to open it up again. Only problem is I haven't finalized the salary details of the new job that I am now committed to (long story), so I just have to stay away from the classified section for now. lol

This by the way @Vtbow is the only reason I haven't messaged you about the longbow you are selling. It's a pretty bow, and I have only ever shot recurves, always wanted a longbow...

Dang you!

Don't ask when he ordered. Don't be like the Tethrd crowd. Don't ask when he ordered. Don't be like the Tethrd crowd...

(breathes in)

I'm sure you're gonna love it! :)

:expressionless:
If for some reason I don’t I’ll pm you before listing it in the classifieds IF you share this 4oz “game changer” with me.

You should buy it :) I also might trade for other useful things...because, well...I"m a gear junkie

I’m going to raid your warehouse if I’m ever close by. You seem to have a large collection of new, vintage, or otherwise obscure hunting gear.

Vtbow has more hunting crap than anybody I've ever known. I only guessed at the depths of his depravity until I had a phone conversation with him.

I remember once I messaged him about something that I put a bid on on Ebay. He messaged back, "Sorry, I already contacted the seller and worked something out." No joke, the listing was gone.

The man is an episode of Hoarders that I'd definitely watch.

Not sure "Depravity" is the right word for the situation..addiction yes...but I like gear, never seems to help me kill many more animals though... but it is fun!

I dunno, I'm pretty convinced you have an unhealthy level of old gear. I've seen some interesting crates, buckets, and boxes in the background of some of those pics you post.

And I don't think I've ever seen you wearing a camo pattern that was still being manufactured. You're like some trad bow hipster! :tearsofjoy:
