They are made from 6061 aluminum. 24" long made from 3/4 round tube. 4 of them weigh 6.84 lbs.

Not sure. It is 1/8" thick. 6061 is what most other people are building their sticks out of.

Yes. They are not as sharp as they look. I have 1" grip tape folded over the top of the steps making it look worse than it is. The steps started out as 1/4" x 1 1/2" flat stock.
