@DanielB89 If the diameter of the rope isn't too big, ditch the key chain ring and run the rope through the big side of the figure 8 tender.

This is what I'm using. The tended distel works pretty well. It's not quite as easy to adjust as a Ropeman but I feel safer using it one sticking since I have slack in my rope everytime I step up on my stick. It's still self tends better than a prusik.See @Redbeard ‘s posts #s 49 and 52 in this thread.
Note how he uses poachers knots to tie each end of the cord to the carabiner. The minifig8 is tied with paracord to the carabiner in between the two knots. Then the line is passed through the minifig8’s hole. Whichever hole fits your rope best will do.

I cannot picture on a stick, and with one hand, pull tag end of lb forward toward tree and the jammy/distel tends in slack. Can you take a quick video in action?
Wow bro. Please redo that muy pronto.

the rope is too large.@DanielB89 If the diameter of the rope isn't too big, ditch the key chain ring and run the rope through the big side of the figure 8 tender.
Please do not hang from that set up. Not sure exactly what knot you used to tie the two ends of the cord together but it doesn’t look right. I am also concerned that the way you passed the cord through minifig8 will somehow cause the hitch to fail.
There is a picture around here that is pretty good at showing the proper set up. I’ll try to find it.

Just to make things even more interesting...
Here is my 2.5 gram solution
It’s a Loop Alien from Ripstop By The Roll.
$5.00. The large hole fits perfectly over Oplux and I am using one of the smaller holes to tie off with 2mm cord in between the eyes of my Schwabisch.

If you like this, please don’t buy the cheap Chinese knock off. My future son-in-law is the general manager for RBTR. Patents cost money. It’s $5.00 and you are supporting a North Carolina founded and owned company. I get nothing for this, but I am proud of Carter.
Thanks
I haven't use it at all. What is the concern with the ropes going through the mini 8? It was an easy way to keep to keep the tender close to the knot.
I will look at the posts mentioned.
Schwabisch? How is it wrt being fussy about being dressed properly?
Oops! I should have read message better. Schwabisch it is. How do you like that compared to distel?
And today I just cut and put shrink wrap over the ends of my two jammys. I assume you did the same from looking at your pic. Nice way to keep them tidied up.
Haha, got two at $1.25 each and love them!! Good call on this!!Here's a different view. View attachment 16886
That looks OK although the overhand knot to tie your prusik cord together is not good since it is primary life support. I would use a double fishermans knot.

So how does it work after the knot been loaded? Knots nice and lose in the video
