@DanielB89 If the diameter of the rope isn't too big, ditch the key chain ring and run the rope through the big side of the figure 8 tender.

See if you can fit the rope through the big side of the mini 8. If you can, slide it on the rope below your knot. Then loop the paracord from the small side to your caribiner.

Please do not hang from that set up. Not sure exactly what knot you used to tie the two ends of the cord together but it doesn’t look right. I am also concerned that the way you passed the cord through minifig8 will somehow cause the hitch to fail.
There is a picture around here that is pretty good at showing the proper set up. I’ll try to find it.

Note how he uses poachers knots to tie each end of the cord to the carabiner. The minifig8 is tied with paracord to the carabiner in between the two knots. Then the line is passed through the minifig8’s hole. Whichever hole fits your rope best will do.

This is what I'm using. The tended distel works pretty well. It's not quite as easy to adjust as a Ropeman but I feel safer using it one sticking since I have slack in my rope everytime I step up on my stick. It's still self tends better than a prusik.
Got caught up running errands today so I didn't get to do a video but I will tomorrow

It’s a Loop Alien from Ripstop By The Roll.
$5.00. The large hole fits perfectly over Oplux and I am using one of the smaller holes to tie off with 2mm cord in between the eyes of my Schwabisch.

What you want to do is run your rope through the large side of the mini figure 8. Then run a piece of paracord through the small end to your carabiner. Also, that doesn't look like a distel. You'll need to tie both ends of that accessory cord to your carabiner to achieve a distel.

I haven't use it at all. What is the concern with the ropes going through the mini 8? It was an easy way to keep to keep the tender close to the knot.

Schwabisch? How is it wrt being fussy about being dressed properly?
Oops! I should have read message better. Schwabisch it is. How do you like that compared to distel?
And today I just cut and put shrink wrap over the ends of my two jammys. I assume you did the same from looking at your pic. Nice way to keep them tidied up.
I dunno exactly what is wrong with passing the two cord ends through there but it doesn’t seem right and I feel it could interfere with the friction hitch catching you.
If your line will not pass through the large hole of the minifig8 I would find something other than the key ring. I’d be concerned that the sharp bits of the ring would catch the rope.
To keep the minifig8 close to the hitch knot just tie it close to the biner with paracord as shown in the pics.

I actually like the Schwabisch better than the distel , but don’t have a ton of experience with either. I had used a Prusik for 30 years before this year. The Schwabisch takes up less vertical real estate on the main line, which can matter if you want to pull yourself as close to the tree as possible. I also think it doesn’t release quite as easily as the distel , which makes me more comfortable coming from a Prusik. Most people would consider that an advantage of the distel and I might as I get more comfortable with it.

That looks OK although the overhand knot to tie your prusik cord together is not good since it is primary life support. I would use a double fishermans knot.

I have swapped up the knots. I went back in the thread to see what knot everyone was using. Thanks for all the help fellas. (I have not hung form the knot yet.).

I use the Swabisch friction hitch and weigh 200 lbs. I hang from my basement ceiling and load it...I can move down with one hand and move up very easy with the tender and the swabisch. Now a regular prussic it gets super tight.
