looks like 2nd gen original sand cast, should be approx 9.5lbs. I dont believe that is the original strap, would have had a black poly whoopy sling style strap. I'd make sure there are still teeth on the back of the seat are still there and not filed/cut off if you are thining about using it for a platform. They and the bracket used to interfere with each other a little and people used to cut them off. If it is allin tact and there are no cracks its a great stand--though some felt it tippy with side pressure because of the narrow tree "v" on the platform. It's worth more as a stand than a platform IMO now that commercially platforms are available...you'd get $150-200 all day for that on ebay, sometimes even more...

actually pre "assault" that was just their original loc on. the actual "assault" didnt come around until they started making the alpha as well from my understanding and previous research. It’s a LW Assault. Lots of platforms made out of those seats.
Didn’t realize that. Thought the Alpha was their first model.actually pre "assault" that was just their original loc on. the actual "assault" didnt come around until they started making the alpha as well.
From what I understand, the "alpha" was their first named model. Then the assault came out with the smaller platform(originally the just over 8lb unicorn people look every where for). It did not have the parallel rung design like these older stands did. At the time I believe they had the "hang on" and "climber". the climber at the time had the same parallel platform design and was a solid v-bar style.Didn’t realize that. Dude talk about knowing your gear. On the topic, I noticed the standoff is the same as their sticks and not the batwing. Was that stock at the time or is that a field repair? Is that what you mean by “v-bar”?From what I understand, the "alpha" was their first named model.
