Saddle Hunting Backpack

I have been trying to find something to carry my Beast sticks and Predator platform easily along with my saddle since I don’t usually wear while walking in. Other pockets for storing smaller items would be nice too. Many of these packs posted so far look nice but Beast sticks pose a unique challenge since the double steps don’t fold so their not nearly as compact as other sticks.

Anybody use these packs with Beast sticks? Please post pics if you can. I hate to spend a bunch of money on a pack and then find out it won’t work out for me.

The eberlestock X2 would work

Well I may have just ordered an X2 and butt bucket- this site is getting me!

Somebody who started a thread about the predator pack can get credit for this, as it was not my idea. This is what I have been using:

What model Timber Hawk pack?

Big basin I think.. I believe it was like 1600ci and 38 bucks.. I got rid of my diablo dos when I thought I wasn’t going to use sticks.. I just did 1.89 mile hike and this pack was fine but the diablo would have been better

Great call on the Eberlestock X2. It’s absolutely perfect for my needs. Still have plenty of extra storage that I’m not even using. The main compartment holds my saddle with ropes, knee pads and small pack with items I need in the tree. The side wings hold my sticks perfect and my Predator platform is strapped on the outside. I like that I only have to snap together four straps and everything is nice and secure. Very quick and easy. That will be appreciated when packing up in the dark.

I've got Eberlestocks etc but my favorite all around pack by FAR (especially for saddle) is this little Academy brand backpack :

I can't say enough about it. It has great straps, padding, interior, camel back, little pack frame, bow holder acts perfect as sticks holder - and only $75.

where did you get the straps for the predator pack?

I have been happy with the LL Bean Maine Warden Daypack so far. $120 I think.

Here are a few pics with a predator platform and single stick. A pack of 10 WE steps also fits comfortably inside. This is the size large pack. One year no questions asked guarantee / return policy too, so if you don’t like it you can send it back. I actually had the small/medium and returned it for the medium/large a few weeks after use. I am gonna 6ft and 230lbs, comfortable for me.

Any idea if that would hold 4 Muddy Pro sticks??

First time out yesterday with new setup. Wasn’t too bad. Still tweaking the platform carry.

I have a eberlestock tailhook pack, they discontinued it a couple years ago. It's a great pack.

It's great can carry a bow, platform and sticks.

I may think about selling it though as I dont need to carry sticks anymore and am looking at the mini me pack.
