I've got mine ordered and I'm interested in what modifications or improvements you have made to your set up.
Thanks in advance.

I’ll be watching this thread also. I just got my JX3 yesterday. I’ll be practicing with it come Monday that’s my first day off. I’m getting the straps settled as to how I think I’ll want them. This thing is well built.

I used a buddies of mine over a weeks hunt, and it was fantastic.
The only possible modification I would even consider would be bridge or tether materials. John hit a grand slam with this Hybrid.
I'm hoping to get some feedback on hunting/accessory attachment applications to the JX3.

Posting from the Hybrid!

The hybrid is all I am hunting out of this season and probably every season there after. You can get in almost any tree and the comfort level is amazing. To me there are no mods that need to be made.

Yeah. I was out in my flex last night. It is a comfortable saddle but I sure do prefer the hybrid Easy on the knees no platform to carry. No knee pads. Serves as a backpack rappelling is comfortable. I move less in it I know I will use both saddles but I know I will use the hybrid more often

Yeah I'm thinking very seriously about selling my mantis and predator platform and going with the jx3. I guess it depends on how quickly I can get a jx3

I got mine in and have already had a hunt out of it. This is the most comfortable and safest thing I have hunted out of in my 45+ years of deer hunting. Everything works great as it is but like a lot of hunters I like to tinker so I’m sure I’ll make small changes as I go. I just can’t see any needed changes right now.

How long of a wait time did you have when you ordered your JX3?

I got a JX3 before the season started. I had to write John directly and he hooked me up pretty quick with one. I have to say it is extremely comfortable. I like it a lot but have to admit I’m having a hard time using it. Not sure if it’s just me and I suck at climbing and setting up or what. But I’ve not had a successful climb with it yet. Maybe I’m doing things wrong. But the JX3 itself is definitely cool and super comfortable. It’s a tree recliner.

I'm interested to hear where you are having difficulty? What are you using to climb etc?

I’ve tried wild edge steps (that’s its own separate topic) and API huntin sticks. For some reason I just don’t feel secure climbing with it. If I use a linesman rope on a regular safety harness I’m fine. I just couldn’t get used to the JX3 and the way it felt to climb with. Then once I was up it was a real challenge to transition from the steps to a platform and then finally hook the tether up onto the hybrid. I just felt like I was going to fall the whole time I dunno why. And sitting in it and balancing on that whale tail thing in between the seat I felt like I was going to swing around out of control or something. I honestly think it’s just me. Nothing wrong with the saddle, I just felt insecure about the whole thing. Like I said I’ve tried “faking” the feel of a traditional saddle with the lineman’s rope hook up on my regular safety harness and I feel fine about all of it. I encourage anyone who wants to to buy one and try it. It’s a cool as hell product. It just wasn’t for me I guess.

Curious what shooting from this has been like for those who have used it this season.
