Treehopper is releasing a new improved version of the Anderson sling. I've hunted from the TH sling this season and I really like it. Zero hip pinch and so light weight.
It will have a built in plate that allows for adjustable webbing bridge or for Amsteel bridge. Removable/replaceable leg straps and lineman loops. Price point should be in the ~$149 range and a $20 discount code. They should be shipping quickly...no 6 or 8 week wait.
Also...
TH is doing an improved, strap-on Ameristep, and an improved tree suit style platform...3 pounds. Probably gonna cost ~$100.
One more thing...A foot rest that will slip over a bolt for you guys that use bolts for ROS. It gives much more foot surface for more comfort during long hours in the tree.
I've only seen pics of the new platform but the rest of the stuff I have and I've used. Very nice gear that should sell for a great price with minimal wait times on orders.
I will let Treehopper give the final details on prices and shipping times.
This stuff is not yet on the TH website, so call Mark if you want more info.

Excited to see all this stuff coming on the market from a stand up company!

Can you post a pic of the sling you have been using Tom?

I'm hoping to get some pics from Mark today. The ones I've been testing have a few aesthetic differences and don't look quite as "finished" as what the final versions will look like.
I will try to get some pics posted today some time.

Here is some info from Mark.
I will also have some pics up shortly.

  • We have an "Anderson like" sling that we've been working on. Were just waiting for the "plates" to come back from being rubber coated and we'll be able to get 'em out to you and others. We've taken a classic and made modifications to make it more relevant to current saddle hunters' needs (with slots for either an adjustable tubular bridge/ holes [in plates] to accept and Amsteel bridge), linemans' loops, Molle loops, and pouches that attach to molles for gear.

  • We've got some "Ameristep like" strap on steps for areas where drilling in trees (State and Private land) is not an option and for a ring of steps. We tested the Ameristeps and found them to break in the 300 lb. range...and these were steps that weren't subject to the recall. We re-engineered them to be twice as strong and they are exceeding the carrying capacity of our Grade 8 bolts with a breaking strength of over 750 lbs! We've attached images of the Ameristep and the reinforced Treehopper designed step. It has a pistol grip feel which makes it very ergonomic and comfortable while climbing and the wings (side tabs) nest in the strap slots so they stack! This will aid while transporting in carry bag or in pack...without them clanking around.

  • We've got "pedals/ paddles" that can be placed over bolts to provide more surface area and better traction. Consider this, how comfortable would it be riding a bike and not enjoying the surface area of the pedal, but to have all of your weight on the small metal shaft that the pedal is placed over?! If guys are using bolts as a ROS or if they want to consider it...These are a must have! See images.

  • We have a new "tree-suit" like stand that is made of aluminum and is weighing in at 3 lbs. We've reinforced the platform with struts which has dramatically increased the load carrying capacity. We went with rectangular tube construction to accept an expanded metal (aluminum) top surface and carried it over the edges for traction. I've side loaded the platform and it's stable and solid. We are looking into different options for coatings including powder coating and a camo water transfer.

We've got another smaller Saddle hunter platform that we are calling the "Crotch Rocket" that we'll be coming out with toward the end of Dec. that is really cool. It folds in half and is designed to unfold and secure itself in the crotches of trees...we're really excited about this new addition and it has the potential of opening up a bunch of new options for "run and gun" style of hunting...images to be released in the next couple of weeks.

  • Lastly, we have been working on an ultra-lite harness that is targeted to weigh under 1 lb. and is super compact...and comfortable. It might be just the ticket for the minimalist. We should have images during December.
Thanks for all of the support and we appreciate our loyal customers! Please be patience as we fine tune the products and and build some inventory. We are trying to keep the price points on all these items as low as possible to provide all with some very cost effective alternatives. Let me know what products you're most interested in and we can see about getting it/ them out to you.

Regards,
Mark

2 slings set-up slightly differently and not the exact final version.
Sling on the left has no leg straps and the bridge does not open but is still adjustable. The (black) lineman loops will be larger and more forward on the final version.
The sling on the right has an opening bridge that is easy to rig. The sling can be situated either way and easily changed to back to opening or non opening bridge.
The black leg straps in this pic were attached the way they are just for testing purposes. Note that the leg straps are attached around the cross ladders and secured with tri slides. The final version will slide thru the (2 layer) cross ladder. The leg straps will be easily removed or replaced at any time. One thing I realized in testing these...this sling will not ride up like some saddles do. It's a good design for leaners, very comfortable, but it's amazing for sitting.
The waist belt is not shown in this pic.

Here is a close up of the coated plates that take the place of the Anderson oval and also eliminates the need for a trislide for bridge adjustment.
There will be a 2nd style plate that accommodates Amsteel instead of webbing. These plates are genius and extremely light weight. The coating has been very durable in testing.
For clarity for the photo, I removed the waist belt, but it will be similar to the Anderson style belt...it will "attach" to the plate thru the same slot that the main webbing goes thru. Attaching thru the plate ensures that the entire saddle will stay tight and not sag while walking or climbing.

Here is the "tree suit style" platform. 3 pounds and rock solid on the tree. Probably around $100 each.

The improved Ameristep style step. Over twice the breaking strength as the original Ameristep. Better color, too. and a quieter hook.

Side by side to a non recall Ameristep that broke during testing.

Aluminum foot pedals for the bolts for ROS guys. These are not for climbing, they are for more foot comfort at hunting height.

Lots of pedals ready to ship.

Thanks for the thorough details Tom very interested in these. as somebody who leans a lot with a very thin build the saddle riding up on me is always a problem the only thing I found that doesn’t is a fleece saddle. How compact does that platform fold up do you have a picture of it and it’s carry position?

I do not have pics of it in the carry position.
I don't actually have one in hand. That pic was supplied by Mark.
@Nutterbuster did a video on an original Treesuit platform that he found on saddle hunter classifieds.
Here's the link...

Hey Tom,

That last part he mentions an ultra light harness under a pound. Is that something you can use for a treestand etc? Just curious if you might know.

Thanks Tom great info

Cool! Any idea on how much the steps that are like the Ameristeps will be cost wise?

Look a lot like one of @Bwahna creations to me. On the saddle that is.
I agree. Looks like really nice gear and the platform maybe what I'm looking for.

I didn't hunt out of the wraptor but made one. I just found my creation to be too prone to tangling. It was extremely comfortable though!

The sling is what he is referring to. And, while these can be used in a tree stand, like all saddles, they are not "fall arrest". They are "fall prevention" when used properly...meaning no slack in the tether.
I use saddles and slings in tree stands all the time. My tree stand's seats have become obsolete. My sling is my seat.

Not exactly. It looks like an Anderson sling until you realize a few things...
It's available. Anderson's aren't, and Wraptors are only DIY.
It costs less than an Anderson costs on Ebay....if you can find one
It does not need modified like an Anderson.
Questions...does a Wraptor have these plates? Does it have leg straps? Does it have lineman's loops?
