Deer hunting is done here in Tennessee so I’m looking to do some reading while I wait for the sun to come back out and for turkeys to start gobbling. I really want to improve my scouting. Anyone read any great books that changed the way they scout? Non- scouting specific recommendations also welcome. Thx.

Mapping Trophy Bucks!

this one looks interesting. I hunt Almost 100% flat areas. Does this book put a lot of emphasis on terrain features? I don’t have any of those really. My only edges are vegetation. Just trying to see if it’ll apply to my middle Tennessee flat land hunting before dropping $30. Thx.

It might not apply as much for you in a lot of ways, but I bet you can still get some valuable info out of it! When you have a spare $30, give it a try. Maybe even look for a used copy?

I didn't know people from Tennessee could read. Man, I learn so much from this forum...

Haha, jk :D:p

In all seriousness though, this should be an informative thread full of good info. I wish there was a thumbs up emoji...

ha. Sweet burn.

Whitetail Hunter's Almanac by Ken Nordberg is interesting. Big Bucks the Benoit Way is another that's a decent read. If you're into traditional archery or wanted to try building a bow, pick up Traditional Bowyer's Bibles.
