My take on an adjustable bridge

This application comes over from what I use on my Onyx arborist saddle. It consists of a CT Rollnlock, a Petzl ring open and a length of KM III kermantle line. This setup is connected to my New Tribe Kestrel and really spoils you for easy effortless adjustment especially for SRT climbing and for comfort at the top. Hopefully I can get some pics posted.

I just got in from refining my 1 sticking using my new Shikar stick with the Scout platform. I used the stock buckle strap but should have my Amsteel daisy chain tomorrow. When the Scout is used with a ring of Squirrel steps it makes a wonderful setup. Having an adjustable bridge is so nice when ascending (shorten) and then lengthen at hunting height.

I forgot to mention the stick is the 17" version and I have a LW wire aider.

Waiting for pictures, haha. Will this set up work on my Evo, with cat paws?

Also waiting for pics. I’m using CT Rollnlocks on both my Oplux bridge and tether with oval carabiners. I also use Beal jammy above or alpine butterfly below the CT for backup.

Yea waiting on Pics because my imagination has deteriorated since adult hood.

I will clarify pic now and hopefully it will be posted soon. The CT rollnlock is connected to saddle bridge loop via a Petzl ring open and the other end is tied through opposing loop with a double fisherman's knot.

Sounds similar to my setup.

What is the prussic for? You should check out Richard Mumford's testing on the Rollnlock it is a super strong piece of equipment.

What is your bridge material it looks like it is small diameter <9mm?

Looks like tether and bridge is sterling Oplux, probably 8mm. I like a long adjustable bridge for some of the same reasons the OP does, but don't find the need for the mechanical device. I can use friction hitch and a tender and adjust without issue for my use.
That's the first and only thing I've done to my Phantom is add a longer adjustable bridge.

The prusik will probably go away as I gain confidence. I like the rollnlock because it gives me more room to turn my body when needed. The prusik can interfere with turning to the left. I also like the roll lock on the tether because I can get closer to the tree than I can with a prusik.

Would it safe to use the ring open to connect a rope with a sewn eye to one of the bridge loops and then use a ropeman1 and a biner on the other bridge loop for adjustability. Not sure what the advantage is of a rollnrock over a ropeman. This of course assumes that all components are climbing rated safe. If possible would you please post more pics of your setup. I‘m having trouble making out the detail in your rig. Thanks!

There's in my opinion no comparison in smoothness in one hand operation with the Rollnlock vs the Ropeman. I come from a rec tree climbing background so all my stuff is climb rated because at 63 years old I don't heal as fast as I used to.

Thanks guys for your replies. I’m 71 and I surely know I’m not nearly as quick at healing as I was! I’m looking at using the Tethrd lineman’s rope with the spliced eye for my adjustable bridge. Looking for a safe way to connect to the bridge loop other than a girth hitch which IMHO is too bulky. That’s why I was asking about the Petzl eye open for the connection.

Richard Mumford has several Youtube videos on this. I took my Ropeman 1 and put it on my Aero Evolution bridge where he puts his RollnLock. It works as a stopper on the aluminum bridge plate. It works great to adjust the bridge length. My Ropeman was only an unused backup for me anyway.
